Yeah, that video is the first one that truly shows the turkey sound. Props to mazdaspeedchick for that one.

That's the infamous Mazdaspeed bypass valve sound. It's there stock but the injen seems to run it through a 100watt speaker and amplify the hell out of it.

do you normally hear it? why's it so loud?

It's louder due to the larger amount of "quality" air the turbo's receiving.

At stock, you'll hear a slight BPV sound but it's no where near as pronounced as it is with the a CAI/SRI installed.

i wonder if i should get that..i know its the wastegate that causes the flutter though.

Yeah, I thought it was the wastegate fluttering not the BPV. I remember at first a lot of people thought it was just the position of the BPV that caused the flutter, then it was the BPV itself. Now, people who have replaced their BPV with a aftermarket one still have the turkey sound.

I have a steel short-ram intake (directly to the turbo) and it doesn't nearly sound that turkeyish. I'll post videos of it soon.

nice vid (thumb) funny though, my car doesn't sound nearly as turkeyish....sounds more like a dove actually.....joy joy. maybe i'll find some time to make another vid from outside the car this time
