Infiniti planning 2007 G37, M37, FX37?

Nissan has registered the names "Infiniti G37," "Infiniti M37," and "Infiniti FX37" with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. Typically, companies register names of new products a few weeks or months before their introduction. Infiniti is widely expected to unveil a new G Coupe and Sedan at the New York Auto Show in April, based on the Infiniti Coupe Concept. It appears the company will also use the opportunity to transition from its current 3.5-liter V6 to a new 3.7-liter engine. The M and FX model lines which currently use the same 3.5 liter engine will also be transitioned to the new engine, but it's not clear when. So far, there is no reference to a Nissan Z coupe, nor is there any reference to a "G45" or "G40" as some fans had hoped. There is also no reference to the much-rumored Nissan 450Z." It's possible that Nissan has scrapped plans for a G45 and 450Z, and instead focused its high-horsepower efforts on the Infiniti GT-R.

Awesome... the VQ has been around for so damn long but I love it. 3.0, 3.5, and now 3.7. With the 350z getting like 298HP with the 3.5 the 3.7 is going to be crazy.

The 1995 Maxima showcases an all-new VQ30DE 3.0 liter V-6 engine, the first of a family of bent sixes (also displacing 2.0 and 2.5 liters) that will power numerous front- and rear-drive Nissans, including the next 300ZX, well into the 21st century. A short-stroke design (3.66 inch bore by 2.89 inch stroke, versus the previous engine's 3.43 by 3.27)...

Too bad we never saw the 2.0L & 2.5L in the states, maybe in the G20/Sentra. How high do you think you could have rev'd a blown 2.0L V6? 8500rpm?

That is correct. In 02 it went from the VQ30 to VQ35 in both the Maxima and the Infiniti I30 which went to I35. I think in 03 the Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4 got the VQ35.

wow awesome i to love the VQ my dad has an 03 Maxima 6Speed what a fun car to drive so much power such a nice sound from the engine interested to see the output of the new motors!!
