In the middle of a brake job...

2010 CX-9 GT, 2017 Mazda6 GT
Ordered new Mazda rotors (TD13-33-25X). Only one hole for the set screw and it doesn't line up with either hole. Seems odd. I realize they are not necessary. I had two screws in my 2010 GT factory rotors. (Was able to get both out using a $5.49 manual impact screwdriver found at the local auto parts store -- piece of junk but got the first two screws free).

The new rotors look like this: http://parts.arlingtonmazda.com/products/PLATE,DISC-(TD13%2d33%2d25X).html

Also much greater outer pad wear (less than 1mm on outer pads, ~3mm on inner pads). My lower caliper pin was a bear to pull out, so I'm guessing the caliper was not releasing fully?

72K miles on these first set of OE pads/rotors.

That's possible. Caliper pins need to be clean and lubed to perform well. If you are in a winter climate the pins can get corroded very easy. They still can be difficult to remove, but the corrosion can still be in the guide which should be cleaned out as well.

FWIW, I misspoke, it was the inner pad that was more heavily worn. It was the same on both sides, I was just about at the backing plate on the passenger side inboard pad, but the outboard still had 3+mm.

Jkoral, did that rotor work. I purchased 2 rear rotors and i also noticed that they eliminated the holes for the screws that hold the rotor in place. When i called Tasca i was told that they made 3 changes to the rotor design. I really don't care about the holes for the screws as long as the other hole lines up for the set screw to adjust the shoes to get the rotor on.
