2011 MAZDA CX-9 TOURING
Hi all, I am new to the forums and new to Mazda. I got a 2011 Mazda CX-9 Touring last night and the dealer helped me get my T-Mobile Samsung phone paired to the car. It's a Gravity 3. But when trying to import my phone book it won't do it. I had this phone and Bluetooth with my previous SUV, a Mercury Mariner and it paired and imported my phone book with no issues. It seems this ar set up only allows you to enter numbers and names one by one. That will take forever. Is there a way to import my entire phone book in one action? Any known issues about this? Thanks for any help.

I never got it to work with my cx9 (2011 with nav) and a droid. Perhaps too many phone book entries?
I suspect it is safer for me to dial it from the phone than a garbage car interface anyway.

So you tried going through the phone menu and choosing download phonebook? Did it give you an error? Personally I think the interface is OK as long as you learn how to use it and program the voice recognition. Both the systems in my Mazdas work fine. Admittedly there not in the same league as Sync but do the job competently IMO.

I have a droid incredible and the wife has a droid 1, we were both able to load our phone books into our 2011 navi.

if you need to edit your contacts, go to gmail and edit them from there. they will sync up with your phone in a few minutes.

Ok, someone help me out here.... I am able to import my phone book into my 2010 GT. The phone book works from the Nav screen but not from BT voice recognition. What am I missing here? I was able to add an entry to the BT phone book by speaking it in. But, it seems to me that I should be able to access the phone book I d/l into the system. What am I missing?

You have the phonebook, but you need a voice file associated with that entry. Go to the contact on your navi screen, by their name on the right there will be a voice icon that shows up once you have set one up with that contact. I believe you can set them thru the nav screen as well as the voice command prompts.

My wife had to state each name individually that she wanted added, so she only did a couple. It's funny, I have a Parrot system for my Accord that is older and aftermatket imports the phone book automatically, from any phone I've paired with it. Weird, that the Bluetooth system directly from the car is worse.

Yeah cause on the 07-09's they didn't import phonebooks yet. Yeah it sucked with our 08 navi. And with aftermarket parts, you'll generally get all those cool features way before seeing them in the stock oem units.
