Imitation type s bov

I was wondering if anyone had this bov? I went to take it apart by unscrewing the allen screws, ( eight of them i believe) and the top wouldnt pop off so i could do the single spring mod before i installed it. I didnt know if there was something else i had to unscrew or if it was just a little stuck.
