So we went to the Auto Show yesterday. Wow. It was pretty cool. They had just about every major manufacturer there with all kinds of cars, from regular production, new release, to concept. My notable favorites from the show were the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS/RS "Black" edition, the Corvette Stingray concept, the Lincoln C concept, the Audi R8 V10, and the VW CC Gold Coast concept. Besides all that, there were all sorts of cool cars there. Lambo brought their Murcielago LP640 in a matte blue finish, as well as the Gallardo LP560 in the same color, as well as a stunning white Murcielago Spyder. I also got to see the Nissan GT-R for the first time in person. I was, however, disappointed to see that Ferrari didn't bring an Enzo, and Porsche was a "no-show". All in all, it was a good time. Here are a few of the images I was able to get. All of these images, as well as a few others, are on my flickr in larger sizes if anyone wants to see them. Just click on the link in my signature. Hope you all enjoy!

Nice cars.

Which camera you have and what lens are you using. Setting on the camera will be nice also.

I was using the Nikon D300, Nikon 18-55VR, Nikon 70-300VR, and used the SB-600 wirelessly in a couple shots. It would take me an hour to list all the setting I used on the D300. You can go to my Flickr and check the EXIF (metedata) if you like. Not sure how much it's gonna tell you but I'll list the majors. Most of it was shot with single point focus, 3D matrix metering (except for the black Camaro, had to use spot metering due to heavy back lighting), single servo autofocus, VR on for all shots, 1/1 flash ratio when using flash wirelessly, 1/250 HP sync. The first shot of the Ferrari F430 was a 7 shot, EV bracked HDR. I was using 51 point autofocus for all shots. All shots were also shot with Vivid picture-control. Umm.. that's all I can think of off the top of my head. As far as post processing: The HDR was processed in Photomatix Pro then finished in CS3. All other shots were processed solely in CS3. Some were treated to a Topaz filter to bring out small details. The rest were just converted from RAW to Jpeg, sharpened, auto-leveled, cropped, resized, framed, signed, and then uploaded to Flickr. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Man, I hate the Tampa Auto Show. We get no more than 3-6 concept cars. 98% of the cars on the floor are the same cars already on dealers' lots. Then they trot out the same handful of tired exotics (Lambo/Ferrari), many of which are from the 70's, for the show every year. So farking boring.

Nice cars, very nice shots. Thanks for sharing with us!

I'm feeling that way about the DC Auto Show, too, but I still make it out there every year. This time, however, Chrysler didn't have the Jeep trail ride, which had been a perennial favorite. Economy be damned, you're not going to sell cars when you don't market them!

The Trail Ride was Fun last year. The one thing i did like this year at the DC Show was that there where more cars to sit in. and play around a little. The one GTR was nice there next to the 370Z. but again, there are better shows. Liked the pics, I used a D200, Envy on your 300 :]
