2003.5 Blazing Yellow Mica MSP
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and am happy to say that as of tonight I am a proud owner of a Blazing Yellow 2003.5 Mazdaspeed Protege! I can't wait til Monday when I can pick it up. But I was just wondering where the production # is on the car? Also, is there anything in particular that I should look at when I go to pick it up?

welcome to the site. congrats on your purchase. you have to call mazda na to get the production number. you'll need your vin.

do a search to find the number

(hi)

Welcome to the board and congradulations on the car.

There are a few threas about production number and you actauly have to call and get it. Just do a forum search

Make sure to drive the car and make sure it doesn't suffer the stumbling acceleration issue or poor boost performance, come do.

Welcome to the forum :)

I think if you do a search on "production number" you'll probably find AGR's thread with more info on that.

When you go pick it up just look the car aaaalll over to make sure that there aren't any scratches/imperfections anywhere that you hadn't noticed before. That way you can be like "see that, I'm coming back and when I ask you guys to fix that you'll know it was there" :D

But really, inspect the whole thing over just to make sure.

Enjoy your MSP!!!!

Thanks for all the advice. I'll definetly be super careful looking the car over. Especially because the car only had 3 miles on it so the service guys better not drive it around. I test drove a 2003 MSP and had it in second at like 20 MPH and floored it and got up to around 50 MPH and it felt stong the whole way. But whats the best way to see if the car has the stumbling problem?

Congratulations,,,

........I suppose. This Forum is boring, and dull. I only come around on rare occassion.

my new toy

hey everyone. i am also new to this forum, but more importantly, new to the world of 5 speeds and turbos. two weeks ago i drove home in my new spicy orange MSP. and i'm lovin every minute of it. people stop me everywhere, mostly to tell me where they last saw me driving.

:D Those are exactly my thoughts too!! Yeah the car runs like crap, but man it sure is funny watching the looks that people give you! I love it. It's almost as much fun to just let it sit in my driveway as it is to drive! Personally I think only the Spicey Orange is capable of getting those reactions too.

i get people stopping in when im filling up with gas just to check out the color of my car on a regular basis........the obvious looks and stares when im driving down the road, and people coming up to me when im in restaurant to ask me about the color of my car. i get soooooo many compliments on the color its not even funny

i love it.

just today I was sitting in subway when some guys from the body shop next door came over and were staring at it and checking it out from all angles......then they came in to ask me what it was and who did my paint

makes my day every time.

I always make sure to brag about it being a limited production, and that there are only 600 in the United States. Hey, it puts a smile on my face, and brightens my day every time someone asks about it:D

i usually throw out the limited edition part......and then if they ask if its fast I say "its alright, 170hp, but its best feature is its handling, it can out slalom a porsche boxster"

those are my tag lines

hehe
