I'm F***ed!!!

Well i work at ups...and i unload packages all the time. And illt ell u honestly the word "FRAGILE" means absolutely nothing. I am guilty of tossing a box, and sometimes throwing it. But most of the time its the way its shipped. In a truck there is thousands of boxes. Some up to 120lbs. They flop around and bang against each other. And then since it was flat. it made it alot worse. Because they dont lay anythign against the wall. its either gonna be on the floor flat, or on top of something. Either way oits in danger. Ive seen so much shtit break..or broken. And the worst thing done to the hood, was it being packaged in a box. It sounds stupid but its true. You can almost send anythign threw the mail without it being in a box. If it was packaged without a full box, and with the ends covered well, and with the rest of the hood wrapped in bubble wrap and or plastic. it owuld havebeen cared with alot better. If a loader - unloader sees what it is that actually fragile they will take a bit of extra care.. nobody breaks stuff on purpose...but it happens thers is too many boxes to baby each box. A box wiht "Fragile" on it is just another box.

But from what i heard. if your package is damaged..severly like yours is. They are responsible for it. it will take alot of hell raising. but it can be replaced. Because we are always being preached to about damaged packages. Thats how they loose money so its the most important, that and lost packages, and late packages. Im sure fed-ex has the same principles b/c they are competitive.

LOL ITS THE PRESIDENTS FAULT?!?!? OMGOMGOGOMGM he ****** it personally and p33d on it!! OMGOMGOMG
(rofl)(rofl)(rofl)(rofl)(laugh)(upyours)
why would customs TOUCH something shipped FROM the US to the US?!

and if it WAS sent thru US CUSTOMS and actually INSPECTED (not all are inspected) it would have GREEN customs tape. i didnt see any of that.

Ya it was shipped from canada to florida. I'm pretty sure pics were pre shipping because they were dated the 19th... no year, but if they were taken on September 29th, it would fit good with the time frame I got the pics.... so I doubt they were from when he got the hood. Anyways, I'm at school right now. At 3 the phones will start ringing...

From my experience, if it's packed using duct tape, then FedEx didn't pack it. In fact, I've had them turn me away because my box was sealed with duct tape.
I'd probably contact the seller and ask him if he protected the corners, or maybe just ask him how it was packed.

Man, that's sucks. :(

thank youre president and his trusty dept of homeland security. i know since i got laid off there that things have tightened up, but in all the wrong places. I have no doubt customs took a chunk out of your package.

Look at the JDM tail shipments that came from the original group buy. My box was completely *****!

Aside from that, like they said I also have a feeling it wasnt in top shape leaving for departure.

Good luck

I actually am a courier for fedex express. I was also a customer service agent for a while too so I had to deal with this every day. Let me first ask if it was shipped ground or fedex express? Second, If there was duct tape used then it was most deffinetly the seller who packaged it. Fedex doesn't even have duct tape at the counters or in the stores. When I was a CSA we turned away everyone with duct tape oe told them they had to repackage with our tape because when duct tape gets cold it can come right off. Let me first say that if you call the 1-800 # just say representitave right off the bat to get past all the automated stuff. If it went Express then you shouldn't have to much of a problem gettting your money back for shipping. Ground, believe it or not, is a whole different company and a little harder to work with. As far as gettting you money back on the item...if you paid for insurance then you should be fine...if not then you will need to raise an even bigger stink about it. And just wanted to say that this totally sucks man. Also, who the hell puts a carbon fiber hood with a plywood protector around it without putting foam around the edges? That is plain stupidity. Even if the box would have had foam around the inside it still would have been thrashed because of the plywood. Little better packing job by your buddy their next time.....

i work at ups also and i ship packages to GA lol!
anyways just call them and make a claim is the 1st thing to do!
just remember 1 thing just because a guy has a high count with posts dont mean dittle! those pics also could have been taken along time before the possible damage! but anyways gl with ur hood and i am pretty sure u will be taken care of! Tell Fuckedex that u wont deal business with them no more because of this! they dont want to lose business!

1) who is the seller, he needs to be identified

2) its the presidents fault this hood got damaged? what a tool.

Ya dude..make a claim right away. Raise some hell. Even if the seller did pack it, it coulda been packed really good. But customs just rip apart those boxes and then repackage it again. I've bought stuff off from a lot of people from this board, and everytime the box appears at my door, there is always damage to the box and is wrapped up w/ A LOT of packaging tape. I tell ya, people need to take that word Fragile more seriously.

Sorry to hear about this. I won't say the guys name, but I must say it's not very hard to find out who it was (search all posts by a certain user).

Hey man, same thing happened to me. I ordered a new CF hood from iON (my original was trashed in an accident I had) and the first 2 they sent had damaged corners. One was barely chipped, but the other was pretty bad. I Finally got a third hood from Jack (who gives outstanding customer service) which was perfect when I unwrapped it, but I decided to keep the one with the chipped corner, I sold the good hood, and gave the other one away. All in all, I basically got a fre hood cause I sold the perfect one, and I work at a body shop so paint was free. However, when the guy from the shipping company came to look at the damaged hoods, he did have to check off whether it was packaged properly. If not, they won't cover it and you'll be on the hook. Contact the seller.

Update : Well on Thursday I called fedex. Got in touch with some guy who started a claim for me. I got a claim # and some other stuff. He was suposed to fax me a claim form (never came) and schedual an appoitment for someone to come out and inspect the hood and packaging. Well he asked when and I told him friday betweed 3:30 (when I get home from school) and 6:00. He said ok and asked me to send the fax back with some confirmation # on it after I got it and filled it out. So ok, I get off the phone with him and go to work. I come home... no fax. Along comes friday. I went to school for two periods and nothing was going on, so I skipped the rest of the day... It's a good thing. The fedex guy came at 2:15.... WTF!!! He stood there and asked me if I had it packed up for him to take... I reply that no one ever told me it needed to be packed up, or that it was going anywhere! He just kinda looked at me and shrugged. I said give me a minute and I would pack it. He looked at his watch and was like, sir, I'm on a schedual. WTF!!! NOT MY PROBLEM YOU CAME AN HOUR AND 15 MINS EARLY!!! I had to sign a little electronic thing and he said he would be back on monday at 2:30. I told him I wouldn't be home till 3:30 and he's like, well ok I'll see what I can do. WTF. Needless to say I'm just ******* pissed at the whole situation. I understand how hard it is for someone as big as FEDEX to handle god knows how many claims at one time... but really... they should have some sort of system that works... Anyways, we'll see if he shows up on Monday. I'm thinking I should call fedex back and ask for this fax I was suposed to recieve. IDK what are my options?

Ya..that's total BS. Why the **** would this guy be out so early at your house when you specifically told them not to be there till 3:30 at the earliest. Who cares how many claims they gotta take care of. They have to accomodate the customer. Lousy service. Maybe just take the hood to a fedex outlet? Would they do anything then?

why do they need to take it unless they are returning it ??

i know you have the confirmation # but i'd try and see what that fax was suppose to be -- and if they take the hood from you -- see if they give you some sort of proof they took it ---

other than that i hate FedX so good louck too ya

*i wouldn't move the hood before they had a chance to look at it --- that way they cant say you did it when you moved it
