I am thinking of adding a few simple mods the the MS3. But i am wondering if you have had regrets about modding your car? Please let me know....

Depends on your intentions. I came from a car with a lot of mods, so when I got the MS3, I stopped at an intake. I even through on luxury-purpose tires to reduce road noise. I prefer the comfort and quiet of newer cars and wanted my ms3 to stay that way.

Can't imagine anyone regretting the "simple" stuff like intake/motor mount/shifter bushings and stuff like that. Alot of us consider such mods a necessity :). Cheap, easy, safe, and makes the car a lot more fun.

I have the basic stuff

CAI
MM
STS
BPV
DashHawk
Test pipe
Turbo timer
Sub/amp

and I dont have more because im out of money for the moment.

Definately no regrets.

I have the basics, too (naughty):

RMM
CAI
TIP
Short shift plate
Shifter bushings
Downpipe
Racepipe
FMIC
Forge BPV
Hypertech tune
Dashhawk

It's way more fun like this. My only regret will likely be encountered if I have to take all this stuff off because of an unavoidable dealer visit like a electrical fault in the anti-theft or something else I can't fix myself.

I do all my own work, including the oil changes and any maintenance that comes up. I can handle pretty much any repair the car may need; it ain't my first fast car or my first project.

I had every intention of sticking to simple mods: so I have a CAI and CBE. However I just ordered the Hypertech tune, and will likely get downpipes to open things up more. And that should be it. In theory.

But the same kind of s*** happened with my last Audi, all I wanted was just a tish more power so I started with a chip (and they cost a mint for the Audis), but 2 years after I had bigger turbos, bigger intercoolers, downpipes.....I don't know what happened, it's all a blur.

I do..Some times..but when I hear that bov..I forget all about it!

I think the Only people that are regreting anything are those trying to push a bit more boost out of a stock tune.....

Zoom Zoom BOOM!

go back? are you kidding me? i scoured the internet constantly for days on end in order to find the deals on all of the parts i needed for the mods i wanted, and i'm not about to let all that hard work go to waste!

I drove my car for about a year with no mods, not even the rear motor mount. Coming from a pos that had maybe 80hp the speed3 blew my mind. But once I started looking online I eventually got the Cobb SRI and from then on it's been one thing after the other. Like said before, no regrets until that fateful day when/if something major happens and it needs to go to the dealer. With only 15k left on my powertrain warranty I'm hoping that if anything does happen it will be past the 60k mark. That way I can tell my wife, "hey, its not because of my mods that I have to pay, the warranty expired" lol.

Im happy with what I've done so far..im already planning for future mods to further increase the power!! Im just a power junkie what can I say..lol!!

I've tried a short shift plate and Cobb sri and have been underwhelmed with each. The shift plate significantly reduces throw, but I think effort is increased too much for my taste. Also, the intake provided a nice kick in the pants, but WOW! It's so loud.

More HP= More noise. If you want a quiet car....keep it stock. (nana)

Most people modify their cars to "make it their own"...Also, they want a little more power and a little more sound. That said, if you choose your mods wisely and make sure they compliment each other and are from reputable companies, you can never really go wrong. I wouldn't change anything I've done to my car (with the exception of my BOV---HKS just sucks that bad)
