idle real rough - now what?

I''ve got a 2000 protege with the 1.8L that is running real rough and was throwing the code p0401 and p0300. I''ve since added new spark plugs and a new ignition coil in the car with very little change in how its running.

Does anyone have any idea what I might want to look at? I''m thinking the O2 sensor, but really any insite would be great.

think you might have posted in the wrong section here....

code 0401 relates to insufficient EGR flow.... so clean your egr (there are how to's on the forum here)
and 0300 is related to the detection of random/multiple cylinder missfire... if the spark plugs didn't fix it....check your coil packs.

i have the same car and had the same problem then i messed around with the intake system and problem solved

Check your intake manifold gasket. They are known to leak on the 1.8 and 2.0.
You need to clean your EGR ports for the P0401 code.
