IDEAS/ADVICE needed for sub/amp/enclosure/headunit

hey guys, need some advice.
I've had a 10" sub in a small enclosure along with an MTX 250 amp that used to run it, plus two set of 6" MB Quart speakers and an orion amp (four channel, not sure what the watt rms is).
I ran the orion for four speakers and the mtx for the sub in my old car.
It sounded perfect for what i was looking for.......tight base with clear mids and highs, and i loved it.
Its definitely much better souding that the speed's system and much more powerful, cause you all know that the speed's sub and system can only handle so much.
I need advice on the following.

1. Should i play around with the idea of installing the 10" in place of the 8" with some adjustments to the box (though realizing that the enclosure might not give me the best from that 10" since it was made for an 8" sub

2. Use my MTX Thunder 250X amp to run that sub (not sure how the amp already there compares)

2. Take out the enclosure in the roof of the trunk and just install the amp to the seat back and just use the sub in its box as it is (it was proven in my 96 300zx and 95 civic ex coupe.....it sounded awesome)

3. keep all wires as is, or install the loads of moster cables i had paid so much for, but then again, i might have to get messy to run all that cable

4. or just put all that time and money into perfomance mods??? (lol)

5. Also, are there any dash units out there that have the screen exposed as part of the deck.....the ones that will most likely take up the space for the deck now plus the storage compartment below (look like navi screens, versus the regular sized decks that have the slide out screen)
look at the japan speck familia, they have that setup inside, was thinking about that, but not sure if anything can fit there flush, would be great to hear back from someone who's done it

thanks, i know this was one heck of a long post

No, if you like the sound in the other box go with that. The standard box would more than likely be way to small for any 10" sub.

2. Use my MTX Thunder 250X amp to run that sub (not sure how the amp already there compares)

Use the MTX it is a much better amp than the stocker!

Yes, You'll get a more usable trunk without the standard enclosure. It is a serious space hog. PLus you like the sound in the box it was in.

3. keep all wires as is, or install the loads of moster cables i had paid so much for, but then again, i might have to get messy to run all that cable

With the extra amp you'll need more RCA's so you might as well run what you have. The stock power wire is too small to run the MTX and the Orion!

Do both (rockon)

Something like the Kenwood ddx8017 should fit. Although I don't know anyone with a MSP with one. It's way out of my price range!
