Last night we were at a friends house....they just baught a '02 Cavilier, has the factory body kit and its BRIGHT YELLOW.....well that is all good.....but then their 17 year old comes in....and whips out this "super street" mag and starts telling his mom how he has a friend that can hook him up with some graphics for cheep....then he looks to me and tells me about the "5 inch tip/7 inch fart pipe muffler" he is getting to put on it....and the kid is PROUD of these things....OMFG....I wanted to smack the crap out of him....THEN he went on to say "these things are cool and you have to do that if you want to be in the IMPORT SCEENE".....I looked at him and said..."hey...YOU are driving a chevy....its NOT an import....you are going to get laughed at"......and as all or a LOT of teenagers think....the OLD guy don't know what he is talking about...he just scolfed it off and left the house to go play with his friends.....

I looked at his mom and she just shook her head....I said " well, at least he is YOURs and not MINE!!! " lol

I had a kid that stopped last weekend while I was washing my car, and he acted similar to the one you mentioned. He was driving a older chevy corsica with some japanese stickers on the back windows, crome hub caps, and a big tip on his tailpipe from autozone or something. He said all I needed was some "beats and rims" and my car would be awesome. I'm still not sure what he was trying to tell me. *Shrug* At least the kid was friendly.

Well, I think you can get the beets at the grocery store. The rims, well, I can't see a need for more than one, but you could but a basketball rim on each side and the back.

The other day I was comming home from work and saw this damn Corolla with a Mustang Bumper, custom fitted. It had some other custom body work...it accually looked ok. On the other hand, there is the older black Sentra driving around with an AutoZone exhuast tip, and get this... a homemade aluminum spoiler with the front tilted up instead of down. oh you can bet I will...in fact I didn't even say anything to him...for I knew it wouldn't do any good anyway.....so....after he blows his money....and some of the locals get on his case about it....he will learn...then again...maybe he won't....lol ya just never know. there are times you just have to allow people to make their own mistakes to make the lesson sink in and take hold.

and being a dad...I have learned that many...not all but many teenagers BELIEVE that they were born with all the knowledge in the universe in their heads.....and that as we get older we lose that knowledge...thus moms and dads don't know squat! lol oh....they are so young....and have so much to learn! :{D
