I want to make some changes to my 3's Exterior

Hmm...
Well, it's nothing big (I Hope), but I want to change my headlight
bulbs to Xenons, fog lights, and those strips (similar to an Audi, if you
know what I mean.)

My 3 didn't come with fog lights so
would that become a problem?

Any general tips/advice would be appreciated.
This would be my first "project," I suppose.

Also!
I saw this while lurking around the boards.
Any idea on how I could achieve this?

-Thanks. (:

become a lumberjack and when one of your shirts gets a hole in it use the fabric to reupholster your interior

Hahaha I hope that's a joke(the plaid, I mean. We've already shown our hatred for this style of interior with the GTI).

Anyway, So far on the 2010 models with fog lights, they really only go on with the headlights switched on, so to get the same effect you just wire them into your headlights no problem.

That remark made me chuckle. (:
Well, not the plaid, but just redoing the interior. X)
I find all that black sort of dreary. :I

Mmkay, great. Thanks. Will I need to cut an opening? :o

Like over there? Or those the bottom sort of, "pop off?"
Any advice on where to buy the lights?

Are you trying to got for the plaid like the GTI? If so don't use red, use the white black and grey material. The red stands out too much and I wouldn't add it to the dash, as it would stand out too much.

I'm not going to use plaid necessarily.
I'm just wondering how to replace the upholstery...

And, I still need to learn how to install those fog lights. X)

Fog lights are not going to be fun unless you buy the Mazda lights. You will have to pop that plastic out and cut it. If you are not good at something like that you can really screw it up and be very upset with yourself. The interior is not a problem. that is a pic of a 2005+ so I know how to break that down. Not owning a 2010 I could tell you how to dismantle those interior panels but can not imagine it to hard. Once those panels are dismantled you would just "wrap" the new fabric or have them reupholstered with the material you desire.

-Mazdaspeedster Thanks a bunch.
If I were to purchase the fog lights from Mazda, how difficult is the installation?
I really don't want anybody else to do it, because of the satisfaction, and I'm a teen on a budget. X)

-Dubcnea I'm a total douche, so could not follow that guide very well.
It looks very well written though. :I
Thank you anyway. (:

my main point was that no, you don't necessarily have to cut anything. there are pre-cut pieces that you can buy if you want. the set up...that's another story.

Oh! Earlier I looked up Mazda's site, and they have two fog lights.
One that's $60-or-so and one for $300, what's the difference? :I

-Thank again.

My rule of thumb: Whenever there are two different items with two different (1 cheap and 1 expensive) prices, it *ALWAYS* ends up being the more expensive one. heh Other than that...I can't help. carry on! (uhm)

If you want the set from mazda, it is $300. It comes with the 2 foglights, wiring, and the new switch to replace the one currently being used for your headlights. This one comes with the piece to be able to turn them on. It also comes with 2 new plastic pieces to replace the ones in your bumper so you do not have to cut them. They have the same design as the design in your grille. xxxxxxxxx <---- that design

You need a MSP interior! I'm trying to get someone to swap with me. Actually I have the red dash pieces off already, but it is too bad that you don't have a 5 door so that everything could swap.

I agree with you though, there is too much black and the other color option was just plain fugly.
