I've seen this tuner before...I believe in Turbo Mag...Absolutely amazing stuff...Has anyone taken that Turbo magazine trip to Japan to check out aftermarket parts heaven? If so...HOW WAS IT?

Viper killer ...Jet killer too...I believe it was in MotorTrend...they compared this vette to a jet aircraft...and it beat it on 0-60, 1/4 mile...anyone read the article?...if you would be so kind as to post the details...the jet did get the vette on top speed...although 240 mph isn't bad!

It's a stroked to hell B18B, .25 overbore 11.5/1 pistons, tec II and that's basically it except for an "extreme weight management program"

(sorry.....I know there's some honda bashing on this site, but hey I loved my old hybrid civic, if I hadn't moved to california I probably would have never sold it......of course now I love my mazda too......oh well, honda or not these two civics are still fast as hell!!)

Oh man, Top Secret owns! I think it was Top Secret that tuned that Supra that hit 300+km/h in a tunnel somewhere in Japan. Like a real street tunnel. Crazy!

well that MAY have happened...but recently they did do not only the mag article...but did the piece for their TV show as well...I saw that one....and it was a twin turbo vette and an F-16 fighter...in fact one of the Blues Angles to be exact....

we talked about this on some other thread not to long ago....it had to do with USELESS comparisons....

it was funny....after the "TEST" was over...they gave the Tech editor a "ride" in the F-16....made him go NIGHT NIGHT with a 9 G turn...lol of course the whole thing was on film....when he got out of the plane he said he was REALLY proud of himself....just cause he didn't puke!! lol .......... which btw...most people do! and those jet jockies just LOVE doin that too!

The Mustang (a Jack Roush special) vs. A P-51 Mustang was in Car & Driver (I seem to remember). The Vette/Blue Angels story was more recent.

the article was in motortrend...it was a lingfelder (spelling) corvette vs. f-18 blue angel...the corvette is a twin turbo monster putting out 800hp to the wheels all while being street legal...the vette beat the f-18 in acceleration up to 100mph that's where teh f-18 sort of shoots off to 300mph...lol...anyways they clocked the corvette 0-60 at 2.3 sec...damn...and it can all be yours for an extra $90k on top of what you pay for the corvette...hmmmmmmmm....

oh yeah i forgot to mention that the corvette does runs a 8 sec 1/4 mile....when the tuners set out to build the corvette their real purpose was to build a car to beat another tuner viper...i guess they succeeded...

it might have been...i can't remember the exact number that motortrend quoted on their testing day but i thought that particular test was around the low 2s...but i also remember another quote when they were testing elsewhere that it was in the high 1s....

That's just stupid fast! I know the Hennesey twin-turbo Viper has a 0-60 of 2.3 seconds too..think I'd prefer that. It'd just awesome to walk someone off the line in that tho...it'd be the ultimate "shut the hell up" car.....be pretty damn hard to find someone who could take you...and even if they did it'd still be a damn close race!

yeah...like i said before that was the whole reason behind building the corvette to take the viper...truthfull i don't really care i'll take either one...as of now the corvette beat the vipers records...and the viper team is building another car...lol...it never ends
