As far as the auto wipers, I have 18k on my car and am convinced that the + and - adjustment on the wiper stalk is there just for show. I don't see the slightest difference one way or the other.

I completely agree! I've wondered if the wiper sensitivity can be adjusted by a dealer just like the auto-headlights' sensitivity can be. Anyone have an owner's manual handy to check it out? I guess for the headlights it says something about visiting a dealership to adjust how early/late the lights come on as it gets darker outside.

^^ that's what I've read here... I've been travelling for work pretty much all winter while my car's been garaged so it's hard to substantiate claims because I can't read my own owner's manual! But have a look in yours to see if there's a comment about dealer-adjustable headlight sensitivity.

I just checked the manual. It states that the turn on delay can be adjusted by the dealer.

Complaints I've read about the auto wipers and headlights confirm my original suspicion of such "amenities", which is why I bought the Sport.

I agree. I could definitely do without the auto wipers in particular; auto lights I do like. I was seduced into a GT for the HIDs, leather seats, and Bose system.

I disagree. I like to let a bit of rain build up before the wipers stroke to avoid streaking. The auto wipers want to wipe when they detect any tiny amount of water on the glass, and I have not found any good way to slow them down. I didn't drive the car all winter, but I can't imagine how bad it would be with salt spray. The poor wipers would go nuts and make a giant opaque smear of the window.
