The f5 doesn't sit that vertical. The only thing that worries me a bit about the way these intakes sit is condensation collecting inside the pipe at the bend in the bottom. Even that is minimal since it has to travel vertically up a wide diameter pipe to get into the manifold.

I wouldn't be worried about hydrolocking anyway. In order to hydrolock a motor you have to basically submerge the whole filter and if you do that your whole bumper would be submerged anyway. If you think it is getting close just honk your horn and see if it sounds like it is underwater. LOL

Lol. I didnt know that the Ingen sat that verticle. pretty cool. If i get a job soon though, ill probably just go ahead and order the intake and exhaust just so i already have them with me.

yeah, thats the Injen CAI on a regular 3.

and yeah i dont worry about hydrolock, the only way ive read condensation getting in that bend was because people had open mouth filters

and water would drip down into the cone from the opening on the top. but the injen cone filter has a hard top (no openings) and when wrapped in a hydroshield the water just beads right off

If I ever get an exhaust I am leaning toward a magnaflow catback. I don't want my 3 to be loud.

tbh i do not have my exhaust or short shifter yet, YET! the short shifter should be here this thursday, and Lord willing the exhaust some time this week, probally next tho. i ordered the exhaust about a month ago and the mazda3 corksport exhausts have been on backorder for about a month now, they finished production on saturday and should ship out soon. right now i only have the twm bushings, which i bought a while ago and not realizing the short shifter comes with the bushings so those will be up for sale soon after i get the sts lol (because at that point ill have 2 sets of bushings lol)

ima take pictures and post everything once i get them! woohooo!! (thumb)

and just like you guys i really hope this exhaust aint that loud lol, alot of the videos i thought it sounded real clean and nice and everyone says it has a good tone, but if its like obnoxiously loud or i just dont like it im gonna sell lol

Another idea...

I dont have my stock 6 wheels anymore (sold them after they just sat in my room for a long time)

so heres idea number:
1) Sell the 6 with the BBS's and just rock stock 3 wheels and get these (someone is doing a photoshop of what they would look like in all 3 colors to help me decide what i want

2) Pick up a cheap set of OEM mazda wheels (my buddy has a set of p5 16s) keep my BBS's. get them bent back into shape (2 are bent) and get them paitned white.
i really dont know how much it would be to get all that done. i will need.
2 wheels rebent
4 wheels painted or powercoated- probably painted since i know a painter
4 new black/gold center caps my current ones are all ****** up- 18 bucks a piece+shipping

I mean i kinda want something different (reason i want a white 3)
but the BBS's are pretty cool execpt that toyota used them on the camry. that pisses me off lol
