I'm interested in your miata. Whats all done to it?
Ahhhh, the old Miata. It's 1992.
Hopefully I will get the garage cleaned in the next few days and get that thing rolled in there and up on stands for a winter overhaul.
The Miata was my autocross and play car. It helped me earn many pieces of wood in CSP and DP in regional and state championship events. Even got some medals in ProSolo.
It's a seriously fun car for scooting around The Dragon as well. I have much video footage from a rollbar mounted camera, but I don't know how to get it from tape to the internet. I'd love post some clips.
It has all the usual stuff a NA Miata gets:
- Hard Dog rollbar
- Jackson Racing swaybars with adjustable endlinks
- Homegrown intake
- TSI
- Hawk pads
- Sparco seats with Sabelt harnesses
- Thermal exhaust with test pipe
- Jackson Racing header
- Cylinder head milled and P&P
- Koni shocks
- Ground Control coilover kit
- 16x7, 13x7 and 13x9 wheels
- Unorthodox underdrive pulley
- 160 degree thermostat
- ...and all the usual little tidbits like Voodoo knob and various deleted items
It's telling me it needs a water pump, so I'm gonna tear down the front of the engine and do the timing belt and all the related seals this winter.
Also sending it in to the body shop for some dent removal and a fresh coat of paint.
I may or may not do flares. I'm considering Work Equips in 15x8 with a crazy low offset.
The seats are going to get recovered this winter, with the addition of some vinyl or pleather in the high wear areas.
It's due for a top, but my plan is for that to be a non-issue when it rolls out of the garage next spring. It will be a fair weather only car.
After all, the license plate reads "H8Z-RAIN".
