Its different, thats about all I can say for them. Ive seen them in Crutchfield magazine for $300 a piece if anyone is interested. One 8" at 300watts.

all these are asia models...ur prob thinking u wont be able to listen to FM/AM radio since our frequency in the US is different...BUT! i found a place in california where u can special order the headunits.

thanks mint. that thing is perfect, i like aplines desgins just none of the us models give me the flexiblity that i get out of my 2yr old pioneer 8200. its just too bad it's close it 1g, if i only had the dough.

believe me 20ES, it's well worth the price! i'm sure u read the details and the specs already at the link i provided above...but they didn't go into depth about the other features it has. like the 3 way built in crossovers, <a href="http://www.alpine.co.jp/alpine/audio02/pms/images/6_02_01i.jpg">, TCR</a> (timed correction) meaning you can time it so all the speakers synchronize and hit a target area, <a href="http://www.alpine.co.jp/alpine/audio02/pms/a05.html">CSDIII</a> customized sound database, just choose the car u drive, input leather or cloth interior and the headunit will find the best setting for your car (it'll also "find" any other alpine stereo components and optimize with the bass engine)...

but yea, theres way too many to mention wut this headunit can do

i just realized i didn't provide any info on the "nuke" looking subwoofer. it's a <a href="http://www.kenwood.co.jp/j/products/car_audio/speaker/woofer/sw_201x/index.html">Kenwood SW201X</a>

it's the concept that it looks like something that really isn't...thats why i thought the NOS subs were ricey.

but wait, before you start going off on me...i'm also admiting the Sony faceplates do look like dual gauges and the kenwood subs look like a warhead (but it would be funny to say my car is running on nuclear energy rather than nitrous )

i just wanted to apologize for sounding like a hypocrite thats all

but i'd rather have the alpine headunit above and maybe the quad subwoofers (i hate the blue neon light)...or even go with the alpine type R subs.
