Do you use the "Automatic Level Control" option on the stock head unit. If you do what level do you set yours at? I was playing with my stereo tonight and I thought of this. I haven't seen this discussed and I am bored. Sorry to the Mods if this should be in the "audio/sound" forum.

I've found it to be helpful only when I'm going 50+ for a long period of time. With stop and go traffic, it seems too sensitive at lower speeds and jumps around too much.
Usually mine is off.

Depends on what I am listening to. Most of the time it is at 3. I have a sub and it hasn't really bothered me. If the bass gets too overwhelming, I move it to level 2.

Closed = Level 1
Opened Sunroof/Rear Windows = Level 2
All Windows Open = Level 3

i've always been used to not having alc. i don't like my car thinking for me. i like abs but thats about it for car brain power.

Just have my set to ALC Level 3..anything else doesnt sound right to me.

i have mine at 2 or 3 depending on the windows... i just drove my gf's car (04 corrolla) and it doesn't have alcs and i have to say i have gotton way to used to it, b/c it seemed like i was always adj the volume it wasn't loud enough then it was to loud. it was a pain in the arse... also no steering wheel controls another thing i have gotten used to...
