hi, i'm new here, but have searched around quite a bit, i'll try to keep too the point

I have a 01 protege lx 2L that I bought today, and own set of 215/50/17's toyo px 4's, that I would rather not sell/replace if they would fit. if I could just buy new rims that would be great.

i've looked at the tire/wheel guide thread, but I'm not quite sure if i will have any rubbing issues with the tires being so tall, or what offset would be best if they fit

stock suspension with no plans of lowering

thanks a lot for your help, glad to meet ya (hi)

Too tall....ideal profile for a 215/17 is 40 or 45. Maybe the 'right' offset and some spacers would work but I am sure that rolling fenders would be required no matter what.

on the lx, they may work. we have a little more room to play with than the es/p5 guys. I've got 215/40/17, +40 wheel offset, and am lowered 2", and I still have a little bit of room left, so with stock suspension, I would think they may work.

I would get some +40 offset rims, and no higher. I think with any higher offset, you will have rubbing issues.

thanks guys, I have an appointment on friday, and I ordered a set of 17x7.5 - 205/40/17's, but I might take my tires there and see if they'll fit

after looking around at some lowered protege's, if I go with the 205/40's I might lower mine to fill the room that's left

pictures & info friday maybe
