I hate my Cobb rear sway bar

honestly. Maybe there's a simple fix I'm overlooking (washers with teeth?). But I've been battling back and forth with my rsb that I got last year. The bolts keep coming loose and all I hear as I got over bumps or around corners or whatever is POP! POP! POP!

I even got a new 1/2" drive socket pry bar last week and tightened the HELL out of them. They turned more than I thought. It was clear the brackets were able to move up and down given the marks on the holes. Yet, I get in the car the next day and...well, it's still popping.

Goddammit!! How do you fix this??(help)(gun)(321fu)(eekfu)(piss):wtf::wtf::wtf:
 
First off, did you use blue Loctite on the endlink bolts? Secondly, you shouldn't just arbitrarily "tighten the HELL out of them." Torque specs, son. My COBB RSB just got delivered today and is sitting at home. I inspected the stock rear configuration and honestly don't see how this can be ****** up if you do it right. I've installed sway bars much more difficult than this one.
 
Along with what the previous post said, make sure to tighten the bolts when the car is on the ground with the suspension compressed. Otherwise, it will cause unwanted noise.

My sway bar bolts come loose even 2 months or so with the stock bar. I haven't used any locktite (probably will once I get the Cobb bar) and I just tighten them by hand. I need to pick up a torque wrench as well.

Yeah, I did use loctite the first time around. And, I, too, have installed much more difficult items. In fact, this couldn't have been "easier." I may just have to pull the bolts out again and put more Loctite on them.

I'm not worried about torque specs at this point. I just want the damn thing to stop slipping.

How do you put a torque wrench on those? I had to hold the bolt with an allen wrench and tighten down the nut with a box wrench. No way I could do it with any kind of socket.

I think we're just referring to the 4 bolts that hold the brackets over the bar.
 
Good notes on using the Loctite.

I had the UPS guy stop by but because I didn't answer the door (was in the shower), he didn't deliver my rear sway without a signature.

Will have to wait for him tomorrow :)

PS will red Loctite work was well as blue?
 
I used red locktite. Make sure the bolt/nut threads are not stripped because I know my dealer overtorqued the nut and shredded it real bad. Last time I went to that dealer. I have changed the sway bar setting from stiff to stiffest and then back to stiff, no clunking and I autox almost every weekend.

I semi-tightened it when on jacks and then a final adjustment when the suspension was under load.

had mine installed about 6 weeks ago no problems with the rear but the front endlinks started getting loose right after the install . I took the car up to jiffy lube and had the guys relube the grease fittings and no poping noises from the front end since .

I was referring to the bushing brackets, not the endlinks.

To those that used red Loctite, g'luck to you getting those nuts off later. Buy a family-sized can of PB Blaster. Blue Loctite should be just fine for this application. And good call on make sure the rear suspension is loaded when installing the new bar. I'll be doing this on ramps or (if I'm lucky) an alignment rack.
 
The holes in the ends of the bar are a bit oversize. I made some small bushings to bring them down to the size of the end link bolts.
