true, but I'd like to get a console for games as well as DVD to make things simpler in my setup. I have far too many cables! A PS3 would also allow me to play my PS2 games (depending on the one I got), which would be a bonus as well.

Your point is true about disk format differences. Though a 50 gig rpg might be incredible. Who knows though!

Like I said, I think at this point, I will just wait it out.

I don't really think HD and BR discs matter too much when it comes to games.
Movies are going to be the issue.

As a dim-wit who went out and purchased an HD-DVD player last Thanksgiving, I will not be purchasing a Blueray player after downloading an HD movie on my kid's 360. Sony may have won the battle, but I think downloaded HD content will completely own Blueray.

mostly agree; thing that sucks right now about that is the bandwidth issue/ISP infrastructure. something at 1080p/i is gonna take awhile to download, even on broadband innanets. plus some people still want to have physical media when they buy something.

i think Apple is going in the right direction with the AppleTV, i think i can see their vision, but i think they might be executing it a little wrong. (they have too many people to please: investors, studio execs, consumers...somewhere in that mess someone is getting pwned, and its most likely the consumer)

i think for 5 bucks you should be able to download a movie and have a license to burn it at home/transcode for ipod. i mean, right now i can go to redbox and rent movies for $1 and rip them...

....i forgot my point, or did i already make it?
