I got royally shafted by insurance co...

in my city/area, state farm apparently has been the cheapest for a while such that they have been forced to stop taking new customers to have enough $ for claim payouts.

i pay 250 a month...allstate. car payment is 297. heh my driving record has some major bullet holes. last "accident" march 98. so uhh...yeah..lotta tickets.

gotta pay 250 tho. no one will even pick me up on a policy elsewhere

You MUST have a bad driving record...I've got a DUI on my record, and I have to pay $180 a month for the first 4 months(like a probabation period) and if I don't get any tickets, it goes to $140 to finish the policy, and then I get a discount when I renew. I know it's still a lot, but that's my punishment from being a teenager with a bunch of dumb friends. PEER PRESSURE...PEER PRESSURE!!!

Progressive gets me $1100/yr for my Protege5. As everyone has already said, age and where you live and driving record are a factor. I'm 34 and have a clean record (so far) Living in crowded South Florida doesn't help. Too many old people and uninsured drivers out there.

im still mooching off my parents insurance, when i was 16 i got in a car accident, got nailed for wreckless driving and lost my license for 2 months, and wow, my insurance went way up haha. its been 3 years so it has went down alot, just gotta wait a little more till i get my own, i dont wanna get ass *****.

Thats the way it was for me....

progressive is 330 a month for me, but i have 2 wrecks and a few tickets and i'm 20 year old male so thats why its so high lol. But gmac was 400ish, and everyone from there on was like 450-500 its rediculous i think i wanna sue an insurance company for being sexist and charging women less then men. :) when they're the one that talk on the phone and drive all the time right?
