I got 42 miles per gallon this weekend

i find it funny that we get as good of mileage as the 8th gen si boys

I doubt it. I used to average 29 mpg with my '05 RSX Type-S on my commute to work. Never got below 24mpg with that car and I used to rev the piss out of it. I had a CAI, exhaust and ECU flash. I only average about 26-27 tops on the same commute with the MS3 and it turns a good 500-700rpm less at 75mph than my RSX did at the same speed. I once got 34mpg on a road trip with the RSX doing 75-80mph. I can't get that with the MS3.

Drove from Atlanta to Lake Oconee and back this weekend. Stayed below 3000 so as not to engage the turbo and kept around 60 mph. I had a 200 lb passenger.

I got 41.997 mpg. Pretty amazing! My last trip there I got 39 mpg. driving the same speed.

I know some of you are going to scoff at this but I've made this drive twice and I've gotten pretty much the same results.

Has anybody else had these resluts?

By the way, around town I only get around 20 mpg.

2008.5 sport.

Wanna trade speed3s? I have a red sport that gets 27mpg at best.

It seems like you'd have to ride the clutch for a long time to get a 1000 rpm launch.

What makes you say that? I drive all my manual transmissions this way. If the clutch is used properly you don't need to rev the engine. Look at it this way, try idling in first, that's the RPM you need to get rolling, (idle). Takes some practice though. I do this on my motorcycle too. Not bragging, just saying it can be done, and it saves your clutch.(boobs)

When I first started driving stick, my dad challenged me to get the car moving, and shift into 2nd without touching the gas pedal. Took a few tries, but I got it. Once you get the feel for it, you can do it with any car.
