I Found A Performance Chip

I just found a web page that offers a chip for our car. I have yet to try it and really want to. I'm not going to move forward yet only because i'd like to do a couple engine things at once (chip, wires, intake). Here is the Web page if anyone else wants it sooner.

Maybe I'm missing it, but when I did a search on their website for Protege, nothing came up.

Actually there is nothing found under protege. Scroll down and click 4 & 6 cylinders just under mazda. Its more like a gernic chip but its a chip.

Yeah i went on the Page..and it didn't state anything about protege's...and if the chips for 2.0L engines!!

Maybe someone should email them and find out the Dealio!!

Hey, there. I just e-mailed them, and will post the response I get ASAP. Hopefully it's a good response, for that price, but I doubt it. =/ It seems to be designed more for the Contour style engines.

I Just got off the phone with performance ford. Heres the story Before 96 come on in. Us were screwed. They have not been able to open the mazda computer box yet (so i'm told) So now I will take a second and say Sorry to the group and THIS WAS A FALSE ALARM, NO CHIP YET FOR US.

they told me this:

Hi, we doubt the application you have is "TRUE FORD" and what we mean by that
is the MAZDA usually has a Mazda engine (Japanese) and thus a Japanese PCM (Powertrain
Control Module ....IE 'computer'). If you want, you can follow up on the PCM
and locate it yourself by following the large wiring harness coming off the
injectors and/or engine sensors back to the PCM. Once you locate it, either
take some digital pics or just describe it to use along with any labels it
may have. You can use all the info on our site to help you determine if it
is FORD PCM style as well.

36% ownership by Ford, nothing else in Ford relates to the 3rd gen Protege. The car itself is 100% Mazda, e.g. no Ford shares anything with this car
