well ever sence i got this car i wanted to make it one hell of a fast sleeper. but because of lack of money this has always been a problem. but in the up and coming months my wife is going to be coming into a nice chunk o change.
enough for me to do just about everything i could want to my car.
i am aiming for the 20 psi mark and am hoping to beable to hit it and still have a car that wont blow up. i wouldnt be running it at 20 psi all the time but more for a weekend thing. it will most likely not be a daily driver once i am done.

what i am looking for is things that i might have to look out for, i.e. problems that might come up running that kind of power. or certin products that may be better than others.
i am planning on getting the hiboost kit along with there upgraded fuel injectors, forged internals, ported & polished head, possably titanium retaing rings, hi performance head gasket, all sorts of sub frame reinforcements, jic coils, brake upgrade kit, and i'm guessing i'm going to need stronger axels as well. plus electronic goodies. mabe a roll cage... might need that.

please give me you helpfull info, tips, and opinions. this will be my 1st turbo car. and i want it to be everything i hope its capable of.

well hiboost would be the way to go. Get ready to spend some SERIOUS cash and be ready to play the waiting game getting your car together.

I am also aiming for 20 PSI, I'll let you know how it goes =p

titanium retaining rings are moreso for high revving, not reallly high horsepower. Also, you will need to build your transmission around 15psi, or 250whp and up

Alot of your listed "mods" have nothing to do with boost. Cut that wishlist down, running 20psi will cost many a paycheck.

Wow. You are hitting the ground running (so to speak). Damn, I'd say that's a chunk of money your wife is getting. Good luck with that. I would recommend talking to some of the people on here that are already 15psi+.

A psi number isn't really an ideal goal. Try a HP number to build towards or even 1/4 time. That makes much more sense consdiering psi is only relative to specific turbos(shrug)

the atx is for austin texas.. i'm looking for around 350 hp. and hopefully a reliable engin. i dont need another car.. we have an is300 and a spec-v just want a play toy. and i'm not really concerned about how much its going to cost... i'm looking to blow around 30-50 grand on this car. just cause i cant get over the look on peoples faces when i beat them now. i cant imagine the look on the peoples faces when there cars that are worth a damn cant keep up.
i am also going to be looking into getting a longer 4th and 5th gear. mabe a 3rd as well. my friend knows some people who build race transmissions who will hopefully beable to help. of course i will also need to get a limited slip of some sort because 300+ hp is gonna be hard to put down with one wheel spinning.

i also hope what ever i do to this car will help buildups in the future.. any problems i run across i will post. anything breaks you people will know. hopefully it will go trouble free.. but i doubt it. and with mad mad tuning is there anyway i can do this on 93 octaine?

daaaaaaaaa? (shocked) did you say 30-50 grand? All i have to say is dude hold my beer, i wanna see this

wow that'd be a fun protege for a quarter mile

sorry dude, wrong car

i can't help but cringe at the thought of someone wasting 30-50 grand to get 350hp out of a protege, when you can spend less to get more

don't mean to bash you or anyone, I am just being realistic here and the only word that comes to my mind is "waste"

there's a point where brand loyalty ends and stupidity begins, and you, my friend are heading there

and if you MUST have a Protege, you have enough money to do an engine swap, do yourself a favor and ditch the FS.

s***, convert it to RWD while you're at it.

no way....

why do you want to blow 30-50 grand on this car? I mean I wouldn't mind you being a test mule, but damn man. Thats just a misuse of resources. Actually I'll tell you what, if you want to blow 30-50 grand and want to be different. Be the first to convert this car to a rear wheel drive rotary. that would be badass and if you could get it to work, 350whp on a rotary wouldnt be so hard. Either way, good luck to you.

Yeah dino, but you're not going all out on some pointless mission to get a PSI number. You're just makin a badass, fast car that still handles like a gnraly beast. He's just tryin to make a trailer queen 1/4 racer out of a 2.0 FS-DE. I dont really get it, but its your money man.
