I cant believe it!!!!

lol that would make it even worse....the car revvs high in 4th and dumps fuel like a hijacked 747 whenever I get past the half mark. I think I killed 1/4 in a 40 mile stretch below the half mark but I did a complete circle around 495 the wrong way and the needle still didn't move when topped off.

Mazda gas gauge needles are notorious for being incredibly non-linear. The first half of the tank (needle-wise) srops slower than it should, and at just about 55-60%, it starts to nosedive.

One would think they'd finally figure out how to get this right!

Its a goo thing I track my mileage regularly, and know exactly when I need gas (and how much). The gauge is merely a 'vague suggestion'

thats nothing compared to the chevy vehicles in our work fleet! they are on full and 5 mins later down BW parkway reads empty with oh s*** light

i would say all japanese cars tend to have that 1st half 2nd half gas indicator thing...all my toys gas gague act the same way since 92'

$1.99 here for 87 and $2.20 for 89!
You're gas is still cheaper than ours even with conversion rate. We pay per liter which is 4 times less than a gallon.
