I/C Pipe Removal

I don't know if anyone posted on how to remove the stock plastic i/c piping from the turbo to the i/c and i/c to the throttle body. But if you have tried this before, you probably know it's stuck on pretty good. The solution to this is to apply some heat with a heat gun or blow dryer. It will expand and slide off easily. Was replacing the upper I/C pipe with an aluminum hard pipe and Greddy Type S and figured this out. BTW the Injen plus Greddy didn't have a "gobble, turkey". Will have the video clip soon.

I have an hks, but i installed a greddy type s this weekend on another msp. Keep an eye out for the clip in the next few days.

That MSP's setup has a Injen CAI and Vented Type S on an aluminum hard pipe flange. You will see in the clip.

I have an Injen CAI that I just put on, but it's my understanding that if you vent the BOV the car will stall. How do you keep that from happening? Can I just replace my stock with a Greddy Type-S without changing anything else? Sorry for all the questions

You can if you know how to fabricate a working flange design. The car just idles erratic after venting if revved up on idle. It will adjust to this over time. It doesn't stall between shifts either. Only situation it may stall is if you are driving, rev-it up and throw the car in neutral. As long you leave it in gear it is fine.

He's right. I had mine installed and for about a week I had erratic stalls. Now with no modification whatsoever its not stalling on me. It does drop while idlying slightly if reved but it will not stall out.

so you CAN vent vs. recirculating.....i just want to make sure that I'm not going to run into problems. As far as the idle dropping....mine does that now w/ the stock bpv

Yea go ahead and vent. You did buy the bov for the sound so why waste your money and recirc it to muffle the sound.

JDM Sam,

Are you tapping an independent vac line like 505zoom did? Are you running your stock BPV?

No I installed it using stock line location and only the Greddy Type S. Same way I did my HKS only difference is using a hard pipe and this msp has a Injen. Do a search for my HKS video clip thread.
