Hypothetical situation

Good call on the truck. Gotta be able to haul the car and tools to/from the track.

Plus for you being in Alabama, you can mount a shotgun rack and stow away your white sheets and combustable crosses.

Good call, the shotgun rack really doesn't really work well in the MS3., However, with the back seats folded down, it's amazing how many of those crosses I can fit in the back.

I would keep it as a DD. Build a dedicated track car. Buy a truck and trailer to haul the track car.

I'd buy an acerage with a small house and build a racetrack around it.

What good is having a fast car if you don't have anywhere to play with it right??

In my case, assuming the budget wouldn't allow such a pricey facility, Id keep the speed as a DD, and buy either some c6 variant, or maybe an atom or a x-bow. I'd probably buy a shifter kart too, and maybe a truck to haul stuff.

I'd do the same thing as kain and enroll myself in as many good driving schools as possible. I'd also set some money aside for traveling (and driving) at: the Nrburgring, Spa-Francorchamps, Mont-Tremblant,Monza, Suzuka, and drive around a bit aimlessly around the alps for good measure.

keep the speed for the dog and groceries. oh, and for 350z's, evos, stis, stangs and a few others(drive2).

and get a GT-R, FGT, 06 Viper and Z06

Keep everything I have now. Add a Challenger SRT-8. I'd like to have another ski boat, but there's no place handy to use one anymore.

keep it...put good money into a nice garage to include an in-ground lift, and plenty of other manditory machines for any kind of maintenance to include tire machines and balancer, all sorts of mobile pumping units for all fluids, ac machine, etc

i think it would also be badass to have my own touchless car wash with turbine dryers at the end

I'd get rid of it and buy a nice smallish AWD SUV for practically when I need it (Outdoor activities, moving, etc) and a Porsche Caymen S for a Daily driver and maybe for the track at times.

I would put another $3000 in mods to make it how I would like it and keep it as a DD. Then buy a 2009 Nissan GTR as my weekend/track car.

2008/9 Porsche 911 gt2
2009 dodge viper coupe
Ms3
2005 dodge 2500 5.9 diesel 4x4 manual, carli suspension, bully dog engine management

I love the ms3 as a DD, I might trade it for an ISF though. It would be nice to have an automatic for days that I feel exceptionally lazy...

i also would like to build an Ultima GTR someday too

Rich enough to retire today would mean between 2 - 5 million, 10 at the outside, I'd guess. Given your description of the limitations, anyway.

Sad to say that good as the MS3 is, there are compromises made to make it what it is that I'm not a big fan of. Some of them can be fixed, some of them can't. I can rework the shifter bushings and motor mounts, but I can't really change that's a cable shifter, and the slight vagueness that lends to the driving experience is something I won't be able to get rid of. It's always going to be FWD, which means grip limited at launch and no power oversteer. You can only fit so much tire under the wheel wells before having to roll 'em. For what I paid I couldn't ask for more, but if I was rich, I'd have been able (and more than willing) to spend more to get exactly what I want in a car.

That in mind, I'd probably buy 3 or 4 cars. I might keep the MS3 as a "beater" for the fuel economy/affordability of general maintenance, but that depends on availability of cars. I'm in Canada, too, and I'd like something that handles winter very well (not that the MS3 doesn't, but traction from a stop is nice sometimes).

Here is what I'd have in my garage.

- AWD utility vehicle, which means performance wagon. Probably an S4 or S6 Avant, possibly the RS variant if it ever makes it out here. A wagon is as much utility as I need. If I can fit skis, golf clubs, or lots of luggage for me and the woman, I'm happy.
- AWD toy car to tweak and toy with, which means probably the Evo X MR, the only Evo that is street legal in Canada. Maybe an older STI, because that 6-speed is bullet proof and I'm going to turn it into a 500 hp monster which the MR tranny hasn't shown it can handle yet.
- A Porsche because I want a porsche. Cayman S? Carrera 4S? Maybe a Targa? Who knows.
- A GT-R if I can get one.

I figure I could get most of what I want for about $300,000 to $400,000 if I do at least a bit of used car shopping. I could drop one or two from the list, deal without the Porsche and the Evo/STI, maybe. Depends on how much coin I have.

I'd also get a bike. Probably a 600RR.

I'm original from Alabama and take offense to your remarks.

My first ride was a truck and you keep the guns behind the seat out of sight. The most I every hauled in my truck was kegs of draft beer and fire wood for the parties down by the river. The sheets were for laying your lady down on the sand bar. We burnt firewood, weed and nothing else.(drinks)

Come on, that only happens when someone holding a torch stands too close to the lynching.

(I think we've learned something important today, guys. Racism and bigotry aren't funny. Except when you're making fun of a guy from Alabama.)
