Hypothetical situation

So let's say you suddenly strike it rich (lottery, dead wealthy uncle, ponzi scheme), but not so rich that you're shopping for which country to buy, just enough that you can retire comfortably starting today.

Would you keep your Mazdaspeed3? Why or why not?

I probably would just for a DD, but would definitely keep it as is and get myself a dedicated sportscar, nothing outrageous (C6 'vette, Elise, Cayman S, etc.).

I would keep the Speed3. I would probably start collecting other Mazdas as well. I would definitely get an FD TT RX7 with a full engine rebuild.

Yeah I'd keep it. Get another car on the side for some track fun. And probably a truck.

Cayman would be on my list as well. But getting a Shelby Cobra would be on there too, real or replica wouldn't bother me.

Yeah, I wouldn't spring for something too expensive, keep it ~$50k. Then I'd gut it, put in a roll cage, avail myself of every Skip Barber training school to tighten the nut behind the wheel, then go racing.

I would sell it in a heart beat. I would then pickup a Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet for my DD.

I love cars and if I had the money I would have about 10 different types from old classic muscle cars to the exotics.

i'd keep the MS3 + buy a whole slew of imported whips:

* Ferrari 599
* Ferrari F40
* Ferrari Daytona
* Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
* Porshe 911 [997 gen] Turbo
* 1970s Rolls Royce Silver Shadow w/ 2-tone [forest green/black] paint
* BMW 850 CSi
* Nissan GTR

and for American flavor (usa)
* Corvette ZR1 & Z06
* Ford GT
* Dodge Viper STR

(nana)(nana)(nana)(nana)

'tighten the nut behind the wheel' ha! good 'un! (lol)

World class cars much? :)

keep the MS3, pay it off. Build a monster setup for the street and get a decent DD, nothin special though.

I would keep my speed 6 and build it. Make it a 10 second beast and buy another DD. Then when my 6 finally explodes ill buy a "better" sports car.

lawl, I think some of you are missing the point. We aren't talking sippin' Cristal on your yacht on the way to your island mansion. Rich enough that you don't have to work, live in a nice house and have just enough disposable income for a small cache of cars, but you still have to budget.

yeah why not. i am sure i would splurge and buy at least one weekend only type car though

I'm definitely keep the MS3 as my DD and likely pick up something like an Ariel Atom or Elise/Exige for my weekend fun toy and of course I'd pick up a truck so that I can haul s***.

Good call on the truck. Gotta be able to haul the car and tools to/from the track.

Plus for you being in Alabama, you can mount a shotgun rack and stow away your white sheets and combustable crosses.

I'd pay it off and keep it. Probably do an AWD conversion, forged block, GT35 and get me the car I've always wanted, a E39 M5.

I'd buy an acerage with a small house and build a racetrack around it.

Then I'd start collecting JDM imports.
