Hwy 9 Fun Run!

Sportline have lower drop than Pro-Kit. If I'm in your shoes (especially in a sedan), I would get Sportline for 2 reason.
1. Lower drop will give you better handling (lower gravity), you get the picture.
2. Lower drop, looks better... :D

Now, I not quite sure about the comfortness on Sportline, but I doubt it'll be anything far away from the comfortness on stock MSP springs (stock MSP springs are pretty stiff IMO).

Lastly, why not consider some Tein coilover? they range about 1k-1.3k and I think it's worth it for what you get. Get it done at once and no need to change later on, OR just wait until you have the cash and get it at once. Why throw down 200 bucks for something you're going to replace later? IMO, it's just a waste, but you may see it differently :D.

Good luck choosing them Jared!
The idea with getting springs now is it won't cost me anything. ;)

I scored with a turbo timer in the raffle and one of the guys there was interested in purchasing or offering a merchandise swap for my stock s-pipe that I no longer need because of my turbo back. Since I already have a turbo timer I am using the one I got in the raffle as merchandise credit.

J, I would say go with the ProKit. The Sprotlines are made for a more aethetic drop, rather than a performance drop lke the ProKit. This is what I've heard, so I don't know from experience. Might want to ring up Rishie.

Hard to argue with the lower car=better handling point Jimmy brought up. But it's also possible that too low=bad handling(or at least worse handling).

Although, accoring to this thread, Sportlines are not available for 3rd Gens:

Oh yeah, so I didn't run yesterday. After work, went and dropped over $100 on tools to adjust my SB(and I have no good tools. Felt it was time). I was messing with the swaybar and found out two things:

1. The ass of the car has to be jacked up to adjust the sliders on the SB. Having the ass on the ground just puts weight on the sliders from the struts and makes them unable to move.
2. Nate, you can torque the aircraft nuts too tight on the alan wrench bolt, because I had half of one of the bolts torque off while I was tightening everything down. So I'm limping around today and wil visit OSH after work and go borrow(maybe buy) some jack stands and a 2-ton jack. Should be OK until then tho. The alan wrench bolt tightens down on it's own. As long as I don't push it, the bolt should hold.

Damn, anybody check out those 18's I was looking at? I am thinking about just offering the guy $250 cash and see if he would bite. They appear to be nice looking rims and if they weight a sane ammount I will definately consider them.

they weight 23lbs each, Nate, how much do your volks weigh and how much do the average pair of rotas weigh?
Oh boy. The Volks weigh about 17 pounds for an 18 X 7.5.

I think the Rotas were also pretty light...maybe 19 lbs or so for the 17 X 7.5.
The stock P5 wheels are 16 pounds!
I'll bet the wheels that you have on your car right now are lighter than 23 lbs. Those new ones sure look good, though.(2thumbs)

Whoa, while I was searching for the weight of the Volks, i found this: Pretty impressive!

"The strength and light weight of Volk LE37Ts are accredited to Rays' extensive forging experience. The 6061 aircraft aluminum is hot forged with an initial pressure of 5,500 tons three separate times to produce the shape of the face (12 tons/mm2)--imagine the density. Following that comes the "rotating spin forging," during which the rim is spun and pressed, bringing the rim out somewhat like a vase. A full 3,500 tons of pressure is used for this process.
When the wheels are tested by JWL (the Japanese equivalent of D.O.T. for wheels), the passing criteria requires a wheel to be able to spin one million times under preloaded weight to be considered road-worthy. According to Mackin, the LE37T can spin well over two million times before failure.
"

Jimmy I checked out those wheels and they are a great looking set of wheels. 23 lbs is about 1 lb more then my racing hart's weigh and those are 18 inch rims not 17 inch rims. I say go for it. They would look great on your car.

No way, Tony! I was thinking that those would look good on Jimmy's scooby.
Oil change for me today. :) My first one since I got my car back. Anyone ever tried Castrol Syntec Blend? It's about half the cost of Mobil One, so I gave it a try.

Never tried the Blend. Finally went Syn last oil change. Castrol Syntec.

Don't know if it's me, but my temp gauge seems to show an asshair-width cooler. Could just be me though.

And oh,the Volks will be mine, Nate. MWAHAHAHAHAHA

EDIT: Nate do you remember what size those bolts for the AWR sliders are? Did you see my earlier post?

Oh yeah, that sucks. I still have the stock ones, but I don't remember what size they were. Are you gonna meet up tonight)?(I think I remember something about a meet tonight) If so, I'll give you the OE ones.

I think the bolts are .25" Dia. x 1.5" Length. The stock ones are .25 x 1. Just wanted to know if you knew off the toip of your head. Went to Home Depot and OSH, and neither of them had them in SS, only the black kind(aluminum?).

Not too worried. The bolt sheared off so it's now flush with the slider. It should hold. I just don't like the look. I know, you probably can't notice it, but I know it's not matching, and that bugs me. Anal, I know.

As for the meet tonight, I'm out. Didn't hit the gym yesterday, so going today. But who is going to SV for the Togue meet on Friday? I think I'll show up.

Oh, I'm not gonna get those 18's, I couldnt get the Azenis I wanted and tires would be alot more and I will be adding an extra 20lbs of unneeded unsprung weight to my car which I mostly do hard driving with which is kinda bad, and since summer is coming I want my car to be especially fast.

theres goin to be a meet tonight...where?????...btw, anyone got their roof rack rails lying around and that i could borrow for hot import nights...thanks
