Anyone know how to do this? bought a new aftermarket cd player and I am going to install it tomorrow. Curious to know what tools I need to make this an easy process. Let me know

if you look close on the sides of the radio there are actually two thin black peices...use something to get those off (knife, etc) then you have to get the "ford clips" or whatever they're called (u-shaped peices of metal) and stick them in the holes you'll see, then just pull.....

but do a search in the sound section for a more in depth guide w/pics

thanks man.....ill look first thing tomorrow....looked in the how -to section found nothing....where can I get that ford u shaped tool?

wal-mart.

you need to buy two sets of the tool. it's dirt cheap and well worth it.. too much trouble to do it with the screwdriver method. Just plug them into the holes after you pull the two strips of plastic off the sides, squeeze inward, and pull.

im not sure exactlly of what tools you will need but i do know that to get to the cd player you take out the glove box and you can get to the back of the stock unit from thier i had some trouble trying to find that out for myself the guy at BestBuy had to tell me hope this helps some

you shouldn't need all that, I didn't. It's a simple double-din system with ford U-tool clips.

I just used a hanger... broke it... made two u-shaped tools....

The U tools are at walmart for like 3 bucks. I used them a lot when I had a Focus. The hanger idea didn't work out that great because I couldn't get them in the holes.

there is a thread in the audio forum that covers this in detail....has pictures of tools and everything....go there and search....
