How To: Retrofit HID projectors into P5 headlights

looks like i'll be doing my retro myself. The one Chico did, since we had used about 3 different headlight buckets to make one complete one, it failed and the projector is slowly rotating

SO, soon as i get the box of parts i was gonna have him retro for the other P5, i'll be doing the retro over again

I'll try to take pics, if Tzar doesn't first of retro'ing into sedan housings. You went with FX-R's? I'm tempted to ditch the TL's in favor of em myself

I'll probably be selling my retrofit setup soon due to financial issues (PM me if you're interested).

I did go with the FX-R

Thanks, looks great! Sorry to hear you are selling the lights. I much appreciate the DYI and the site hook-up for sourcing parts. I am totally up in the air as to whether to do a custom 4-2-1 header or Retrofited HID lights.

Damn! Very nice.

Honestly...I just looked at your FS thread and was about to buy them. No joke. I had my paypal ready.

I'll still consider selling them. ;)

Relay wiring harness install instructions link added to first post.

I honestly didn't measure, I just roughly made the hole about 3x bigger than the factory bulb hole.

Yeah, it's sitting about an inch and a half out or so. You might want it to stick out a little more than so it's past the headlight housing out the back, mine just gets to the edge of it.

So I guess I would have to drill the hole out a little more? Would I splice both wires coming from the projector to the high beam wire or is one a ground? http://i477.photobucket.com/albums/rr131/xDJ_DUBx/Personal%20Life/bad.jpg

What I did was splice both of the solenoid wires into a male 9005 connector like this, to make it plug and play:

Both wires are positive so it doesn't matter how you splice/solder it. I ordered two of them from here: http://autolumination.com/connectors.htm

But I have the sedan, so I only have the one H4 connector. Im just trying to picture how I would wire the high beam so that im not waiting on parts after the retro is finished
