ahh ok, i got ya
so yeah..it might work

let us know the turn out

Cool, that's what I was hoping you'd say. I'll take pictures and let you know how it goes.

did mine yesterday with a friend.. has some problems taking out the lower wirring loom nut.. the rest was ok..

the wheel hop is 99% gone.. nothing to damage the lsd anyways..

but hell does it vibrate

Props to anyone who has done this without removing the intake manifold. I swapped my rear mount while I was doing the VTCS removal and I struggled for several hours getting those 3 nuts off. Even with a 2 foot breaker bar and a 12" cheater extension, they were still incredibly hard to get off.

I was only able to use my impact wrench on the bolt that goes through the motor mount- that part was a snap.

you might wanna pay close att. to the bolt's thread where the rr mount gets mounted on.

I kinda used excessive force and stripped the threads of the bolts which made me do a big job to replace them w/ new biffier ones .

I was able to hand thread the new (because the old nuts got destroyed) nuts on. So I'm not worried about that.

Ok this is a really great thread - gave me a laugh over dinner in front of the computer! I'm in the middle of a major engine overhaul with IM and all attachments removed anyway. I've been carrying this rear engine mount around for over 6 months after replacing the other three. All previous attempts were defeated by the lower 10mm nut but tonight I resolved to get the damn thing off.

I got the lower 10mm nut off the electrical bracket (FINALLY!!!!) using a 1/4"drvie 10mm short socket with a universal and extension. Then used a bungee to hold the wiring harness away from the firewall (hooked it over the engine to the exhaust manifold).

I soaked the 3 x 17mm nuts with penetrating oil and used a 1/2" drive 17mm socket with universal, 2x 12" extensions and a 2' breaker bar. Initially I bent the bracket stud away for nut #3 but even with it bent crazy far it was still in the way and I ended up rounding the nut slightly. I didn't want to risk pooching the nut completely so I got out a hacksaw blade and cut the sucker off. Who the heck came up with that bright idea (wiring harness bracket design/install/location)????? May he/she rot in hell! Anyway, used a chunk of 2x4 and a hammer to whack the socket on square and the extra time spent with the hacksaw let the penetrating oil do it's job and it finally came free with a loud crack! Thank goodness that nut didn't round any further - I bet that would have been a pain in the ass to remove.

Now I'm stuck on the through bolt! Earlier threads I read didn't mention any issues with this - but this thread mentions it. Any suggestions? Mine appears to be good and stuck.

Do you have a jack under the motor? You can't remove the mount unless the engine is supported.
