How to post videos?

I got some pretty good footage of KpaBap, UberCaff and me driving down Hwy 236. I'd love to post it, but I'm completely clueless on how to go about it.

Is there somewhere you know that will host my vid or do I need my own website? If I do need my own site, anybody wanna host it for me? I got the footage with a mini DV camcorder, and it seems to have a firewire connection on it. I guess that this is the way to get the movie onto my hard drive..(uhm)

Once it's hosted, do I just link it here or is this more involved than simply posting a pic?

Thanks in advance, ...and...oh yeah...I already RTM, (RTM) but it didn't help much.

gonna assume you're a total newbie (no offence)
tools:
-your camera + footage
-firewire card in your computer
-lots of hard drive space
-video editting program (adobe premiere, etc.)
steps:
1. you need to capture the video on your hard drive from your camera through the video editting software - it will be uncompressed video so it will be something like 5 megs per second of footage (don't quote me on that though)
2. once the footage is captured and assuming you don't want to edit the footage e.g. cut and paste, add music/special effects, you'll have to compress the video with a codec
3. once the compression is complete, you have yourself a (hopefully) much smaller video file.
4. you'll need some webspace to host it - but unlike pictures, videos are usually much larger so there won't be places like imagestation for free. hopefully you know someone with a server who can host for you and has a lot of available bandwidth.

hope that helps! i haven't used my DV camera for about a year now though.
