How to on aiming headlights?

I have searched this, so forgive me if this has been posted.

I got my new HID kit, 6000K and it seems to me to be less light than stock. When I pulled back into my house though, it looks like most of the usable light is pointed way too high. So, obviously I need to re-aim the headlights.

Now, how do I do that? Is there a certain number of feet to park away from a wall and then the light should only go "so high" or something? Also, how do you even change the height of the beam pattern?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had to go through lowering my lights a few weeks ago and this is what I found. It's actually a 10mm brass coloured bolt that is behind the lights. If you have a ratchet set use a 10mm bit and look at the bottm of the light assembly. Turn clockwise for lower and counter-clockwise to highten. There are tutorials that will demonstrate the procedure for aiming (i.e. at night on flat surface park xx ft away from wall....)

I have attached 3 photos of the bolt itself. These were all taken on the driver's side and naturally the passenger side is the same. I hope this helps a bit.

That's helpful. Is there any left/right adjuster? (not that you'd typically have to mess much with that)

I am sure that there is, but I can't answer specifically. It wasn't something I needed to do and I don't think I would work on that too much myself.

bazooka joe: did you guys know you can use a philips screw driver on this?

Yes you can. The turtorial I saw used the 10mm bit and I found it very comfortable to use, but a screwdriver will work also.

Cheers.

i just tried this on my garage wall, and i noticed while i was looking for the beam to actually move, but the light onyl got brighter...FAIL finna go back out n see what i can do wince its dark. hope its not way off
