I am going to show you how to install an HKS Type 0 Turbo Timer. I haven't seen a really detailed guide or recent guide so I thought I'd share.
Time: 1 hour
Tools: Philips head screwdriver
Wire stripper
electrical tape
razor blade
Flat head screwdriver
First: Dis connected negative battery terminal. (I didn't but just do it as precation). Take off the upper and lower steering wheel column covers, there is 3 philips head screws on the lower cover you need to remove and the whole thing should pop off. You will have to unplug a connector by the ignition port when you take the cover off so it doesn't just dangle there.
Next on the left side of the steering column you will see a connector with 2 thick blue wires 2 thick red ones a black wire with a white stripe and an orange wire. The ones you are going to tap into are the black wire with white strip, the Thick red and Thick Blue one that are right next to eachother. The red and blue ones you need to use are in the same row as the orange wire. Make sure you do not use the red and blue wire that are in the same row as the black/white one.
Now take the razor blade and cut the plastic tubing off of those three wires I mentioned earlier. (Note the black wire with white stripe is on the row below the red and blue wire you need to use.) So cut about a centimeter of the tubing off of each one, then take the Turbo timer and cut the connector off if you do not have the plug and play harness for your specific vehicle. after you cut the connector off, strip about an inch of the tubing off of each wire except the gray one. Then connect the blue wire on the TT to the Blue ignition wire, the red to the red and the Green to the black/white one.
Then you're going to need to find a good ground for the black wire coming off the turbo timer harness, just use the steering column metal and find somewhere to get a good connection to the ground wire and secure it there. So now with that gray wire, that is the parking brake wire so the turbo timer will automatically shut the car off when the parking brake is dis-engaged. first take off the plastic cover that the E brake handle goes through, it just pops out, then take out the cup holder plastic that covers around the shifter, that also just pops out. Now down below the shift handle, (Helps if you pull it all the way up) you will see a yellowish wire, you need to strip about a centimeter off of that one too and connect the extra gray wire that come with the TT to it. It's going to be a pain so be patient, once it is connected run the wire under the plastic past the shift knob and thru the plastic that is beside the foot well of the driver side. I used a screwdriver and taped the wire to the tip of it and pushed the screwdriver thru so i could reach the wire and pull it thru.
After you're done running the wire, attach the gray wire to the gray wire coming off of the Turbo timer, then find a place in the driver side foot well to secure the TT box and wires so they are not just dangling around, plug the TT screen into the box and secure the wires wherever you choose, I ran mine down by the door then under the foot well, secure the TT to the dashboard or wherever you want and then start your car and shut it off and the TT is set for 30 seconds automatically, you should here it beeping to act as the count down and after 30 seconds it should shut off. I just installed mine today and it works fine. If you have any questions or tips let me know.
Make sure you tape all of the bare wires that you connected.
