This is very similar to the older model install but at least you can see if any differences. I went with the smallest unit they make as I just wanted to get temp down 20-30 degrees.

This would also allow future installation of the external tranny filter but I did not care for it at this time. I've also flushed the old fluid, it was VERY black and VERY smelly with only 28,000 km on the clock.

I went with https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)fluid and added two full bottles. One was just a drain and fill into the pan and one by running car with hose disconnected and just draining directly into a bottle to flush torque converter.

The fluid look was more red now and not smelly. Will see what happens next year.

Did you get this done, and did it help? I had my transmission replaced beucase of odd shifts and shutters. I am going to change my trans fluid again and with every second oil change from then on. But I would like to know if the cooler helped the fluid situation.

I don't know. I have about 3600 more kilometers left before I plan to do my next drain and fill.
I do remember how old fluid looked and smell (like a dead skunk left under your front doors), so I have something to compare it to.
There was another follow who did the install before me and said that his tranny fluid looks much, much better.

Ok, adding this to the list of must haves. my last trans baked the fluid in one weekend.

Since changing to Redline fluid, I haven't been cooking the transmission.

I was going to put a cooler in, but I don't have to now.

It can't hurt though.

Amsoil is likely superior to Redline:

Twice as expensive:

Amsoil is the best. I am not at all connected with Amsoil but did spend a lot of time reviewing and speaking to experts. I would use their engine oil if I am driving a lot of miles.
