How to get the best fuel mileage

I was just wondering where you guys usually shift at (RPMs) and what the best way to do it would be to get good mileage. Is there a recommended shift point? Recommended coast rpm? That would be awesome.

How about adding what mpg you are currently getting?
I cruise at 2000rpm whenever I can and shift at 3000rpm.
80% city, 20% hwy.
440km/44L
23.5 MPG

Drive at 60 MPH on the hwy when you can.

Skip 4th and go straight to 5th when you can.

Premium non-ethenol fuel. 90% highway. Usually accelerate heavily in 1st, skip 2nd & 4th. Cruise control freeway. I've also tried driving/accellerating gently. Seems to pretty much get the same milliage either way, maybe because of mostly freeway.
So, I'd drive it however gets you the most fun.

Summer 34, winter 26.
