How to fix your rear Squeaky Squeaky in less time than it take to drive to the Dealer

I stripped the top bolt out when replacing the sway bar links. You can't get a tap and tap wrench to work in the space, just too confined. I bought new bolts (M10-1.25) because the old ones were stripped as well. There is enough thread left on the end to get another M10-1.25 bolt onto the backside, but it's a pain to get it all lined up and not cross thread it. After ten minutes of messing with it, I got it all lined up, threaded on and it torqued to specs.

I stripped out the hole by using an air ratchet it to tighten it and must have crossthreaded it initially. I learned to be careful with the power of air tools (rolleyes)

I totally 'cheated' on the squeak found on my 2010 GT. The use of a needle greasing tip found at an auto parts store made the dismantling not required.

Thank you "A0928". Interesting write-up. I did mine today and they are now quiet.

Was looking at using aftermarket urethane replacements.

Has anyone installed the urethane and was there a difference?

Picture of my bushing. It is not damaged, I greased them and the car is now quiet.... but I will replace them with new OEM bushings later.

After reading about the polyurethane bushings, I reconogize they are not for me. They make the care too firm and the system tight...require more maintenance than OEM.

I just want this car quite for my wife to drive and to be happy.

She is happy and so am I now!
