how to fill Manual Tranny Easily???

Hello all,

I just replaced my left side cv-joint. Easily done in about 25 minutes or so. Anyways Now I have lost some gear oil, and wonder what the easiest way to fill it back is. I have found the hole. The bottles just have so much pressure behind them that they are almost impossible to squeeze, leading to a big stinky, slimy nasty mess on my garage floor. Anyways what do you guys do? I am probably a quart low (notcool) anyways thanks in advance all.

well if you changed your axle. and some leaked out, don't worry about it. You didn't loose much.

But for future reference. The 1st gens fill the tranny through the spedo cable access on the tranny. I think you remove the spedo and then fill the tranny.

The 2nd gens you have a bolt on the front of the tranny. You pull the bolt and you will need a long siphone funnel to reach the bolt hole. You fill there till when you put your finger in and feal tranny fluid.

Thankyou for the help. I will get a quart tommorow and try to fill it my self. Now the speedo cable is on top of the tranny right?? Thanks again.

Later,

Bart
