How the site has helped you?

I recently received this PM from cop1976 (aka Lawrence) which I'd like to share with everyone :D

Hello, I havent been using the forum in a while, but I came here for help when my P5 started giving me trouble. I found my answer in the "How To" section and went about my own repair. It worked like a charm and I saved myself at least $250-$300. I would like to make a donation in appreciation for how helpful the Mazda Forum was for me. How do I go about making a donation? Do I pay via PayPal or send a check or something? Any information is much appreciated.

Lawrence

The fact that the "How To" worked so well and saved him a few hundred bucks made my day!

Hi All,

I have only been a member here since August, but I want to give a big thank you to all the folks helping to figure out my mystery Mazda 1200 pickup. A special thank you to Maxg765, for all of his help as well!

It helps to reinforce my belief that the automotive community as a whole are still a good bunch of folks who share a common interest and are willing to share their knowledge and experiences. If I can return the favor, I'd be happy to share my knowledge with anyone on the forum. Just ask....

Coming fresh into modding last summer when I bought my car this site has given me helpful hints on what and what NOT to buy. Even on the products I have no money or in depth knowledge for yet (turbo, exhaust, etc). Good place to rant and just see cool cars. And that hot chicks thread rocks too!

Plus you guys arent assholes like that other Mazda Forum I tried, ya know its pretty much our forums rival...Yeah their assholes.

My MSP sold today - to a forum member in good standing. replaced it with a Mini Cooper S.

I owe you for that, since the MSProtege.com boards allowed the sale to happen. I only saw the link for donating $5, $10, or $20. I even put in the ad that I'd donate $50 if a forum member bought the car, and one did, so I owe you $50. How d'ya want it?

Oh - and thanks for a great board - been a source of great enjoyment (not to mention distraction!) over the last 4 years... I'll still come by every now and again though...

Being that I'm a V8 guy and this double overhead cam thing was new to me Ive learned quite a bit. I've learned what to buy and what to expect from my car. I've also made some good friends here in my own town that I never would have met if we were not on this forum. And it is a good tool to pass the time at work. Kind of like now!!

I like to see peoples experience with new and known stuff. Also to get ideas for trouble shooting issues.

Also to see what people with te same car have done to it, and what directions they have taken there cars making them unique but tastfull

I Love the Mazda Crowd because there is a clear difference from the Honda crowd

For a little

This has been the only place where I have found info on my project 1200 pickup restoration.

Not to mention, folks here don't give me that crazy look when I mention a rare Mazda.......(bang)

I would have stopped at the intake and cluster swap if it wasn't for this site. I was able to learn all about my proteg, as well as a lot about the MSP. I was able to learn all the specifics (models, options, colors, etc) as well as see what mazda parts were interchangable.

It was this knowledge plus the support here that convinced me to buy all of my mods since then. When I saw the MSP kit on ebay, I was able to tell from the knowledge I had learned here that it was authentic Mazda parts and I would be able to install them on my car. I did the conversion for less than half of what it would have cost going through the dealership for all the parts. Best mod to date!

If I meet a fellow Mazda owner I will recommend them to this site, the how-to's and people's documented experiences help immensely. Instead of me selling my car, I plan on owning it for a long time :)

this site is the best protege site out there!!! it helped me find out that there are a lot more protege heads out there than just me, helped me out with new product and websites i had no idea about, and finding parts at a way cheaper price!!!!

I made a bunch of friends back in D.C. through this site, and when I moved to GA, the GA subforum people made me feel very welcome. I've gotten great advice on here and found out about new stuff and fun events (Mazdapalooza).

Most recently, I've sold one of my Proteges to someone I found on the forum and sold my race wheels and tires.

The greatest thing has been the people, though, really.

Forgot to add that, I never would have heard of Mazdapalooza and had a kickass time! Meeting members in person (Sandspeed, Jomo, Kooldino, Foolish, Justanotheradikt to name a few) was great. Plus getting 2nd for sedans was an ego boost :)

As a result of owning my P5, I have met many great people both locally through our own site/club and also through this great forum. I have made friends - some that I've been lucky enough to go visit - that understand all too well this addiction called modding and don't look at you sideways when you go on about your car (or any car in general) and the plans you have for it. Some of these friends I know will be friends for life; can't ask for any more than that.

Though I am not the typical woman when it comes to cars - I've always been addicted to speed and things that go vroom (and zoom-zoom :D ) - this site has been an invaluable source of information and a great resource whenever a question or problem arises about/with my car. This is the first car I've ever even thought of modding and while it's a huge learning curve, with the biggest lessons yet to come ;) , it has also been an absolute blast. Thank you for allowing an outlet for my bank account, lol... I'm just glad there isn't a direct connection or the bills would never get paid!!

Thank you to all the members of msprotege, the admin and mods... for providing a place where like-minded individuals can come together and share stories and personal experiences, vent or just enjoy their common obsession. But mostly, thanks for the friends I've made. :)

This reminds me of a similar email I made to Antoine a while back and I promised to send money...haven't forgotten. I'll send you a money order next week as promised and sorry it took so long. This forum rocks and it's kept me out of trouble....I just love how much I've learned and always anxious to get home and see what's up instead of hitting the bars.

This site has given me more than enough confidence to tackle alot of the mods myself. This site has provided me with more than enough information to make the right decision. I have learned an unbelievable amount about my car through this site and local clubs as well.

.......FWIW, out of the probably 100+ purchase transactions I've made on here (much to the dismay of my wife), this is the first time I can say I'm not really happy with what I got. You and the mods do as good a job as can be done keeping the riff-raff out.

Despite a minor issue with a recent purchase...100+ successful transactions is AWESOME! Props to the FS mods and members who help report threads! (2thumbs)

Ive sat online for the last couple days listening to sound clips and videos of P5's racing and exhaust sounds...its helped me out so much deciding on which intake, exhaust, headers, wheels and tires i want to get, ive actually thought about taking out a $4k loan to get a complete turbo kit from protegegarage.com. Problem is i dont wanna know how much it would cost to have someone put the turbo in my car. Id like to help or work with someone who knows how so i could learn...im only 20 yrs old and i love cars, but not really many of my friends are so im kind of a loner when it comes to cars....

MazdaForums ROCK!

Among many things I cannot even begin to mention I just spent 5 mins reading a thread on heater problems and spent 5 mins looking at my car and fixed something my dealer would have spent hours messing with and still wouldnt have fixed it. Thanks guys!
