How much psi can a stock MSP handle before it starts to get dangerous levels of knock

How much psi can a stock MSP handle before it starts to get dangerous levels of knock? What is stock boost set at on these cars?

2 bar... you should try it....(headshake

A friend of mine ran 14psi for a while... but thats pushing it...alot..

stock boost varies per car.. I'd say average 6.5psi.

at least 1 bar come on

not without some serious mods.

stock internals on this car are weak weak weak. with the flash i would not go higher than 9 psi and without the flash 12 psi. if you have things like a decent FMIC, colder plugs, CAI, well tuned engine management, and forged internals you might have a different story. this is a pretty hot button topic with lots of different opinions but mine is one of better safe than sorry

and basically, like you were stating in your other threads, your friend is gonna have a really expensive time trying to make his car hit 12's if it's his daily driver....

10psi..done the testing...blown the motors....few people have gotten lucky...many more havent....

the motor can take more than the stock turbo can blow. How long it will last is a completely different story. Tuning for 10psi with complete supporting mods would be the way to go if you dont want to put in forged internals.

I agree with 10 psi ive run 10 psi for about a year now compression is still very good. I change plugs every 5000 miles. And now i have dsm afc so i think im fairly safe now.

i was kidding to be honest ide get some pimp bolt ons first then maybe think about touching boost. maybe. i have a mbc sittin in my cup holder but to chicken s*** to put it on with all the popped motors

I ran 14.7 psi for a day at the track. No knock at all. As to whether the engine can handle the power- who knows. But the original question asked about knock, and I had none.

Fuel cut? Yep.

The stock gt25 is efficient to about 20 psi. I highly doubt the mazda motor can handle that much....

probably...that and the stock pipes increase in size something wicked over 11psi.

yea stock pipes are def ballooning once you go over 10psi, we put a piece of white atheletic tape around mine and ran 10 psi for a day...when we looked at it that night there was a good 1/8th to 1/4 inch black spot where the tape had pulled apart....though even with an upgraded ic and hardpipes i doubt the stock t25 is very eff. past 16-17psi...not so much due to heat production as cavitation theory....

didnt joeP make a pass @ 22psi in an otherwise stock speed or something lol

He still made more hp than 505zoom who has almost everything and a bigger turbo.....
