That's what the dealer offered if the car is clean. I may be moving up to an STi soon. I'll probably try to sell it privately. Autotrader has some going for 19K (from the dealers), and 16.5 to 17K for private parties. I'm not sure how long they've been on there for.

actually, going by black book, a p5 is worth more than a MSP

dealers trade at "average" book. this would be my p5 vs. my friend's msp both with 35K miles

msp - 10250 -550 (manual) -325 (miles) = 9375

p5 - 11000 -550 (manual) +350 (moonroof) -325 (miles) = 10475

wow, glad i have a p5!

ps. they can "show" you what you want to see...it's all in what your "hot button" is.

What I was suprised to see was that they knocked off a $100 for an msp for having 16,036 miles on it. I also noticed that when I went blackbook online and used ther free consumer version there was some differences. It's like the dealers and finance guys get access to different data and are shown different end results than the average consumer

Black Book Online pre-inspection trade estimate... 2003 MAZDA PROTEGE 4D SEDAN</SPAN> $8,075 - $10,685

Price accurate until: February 25, 2005. Market conditions may allow your dealer to offer more. Get a firm offer by calling the dealer for an appraisal appointment. LOWER YOUR TAX BILL? State sales tax law could save you an additional $485 when you trade your used vehicle with the dealer. Ask for details.Check your e-mail for the appraisal... then visit the dealer for a firm price</SPAN>

the results from my first post are from my wife using black book online as a auto finance company.

well there you have it! you heard from a guy who works at a dealership and one who works at an auto finance company, so that should confirm the values of our cars...

That's the value to a dealer. There's no way I would sell a car less than 1-1/2 years old, with 20k miles for that range. No ******* way the value should drop almost 50%. I'd sell it privately.
