How many think the VW R32 is overpriced? I sure as hell do!

The R32 is an awesome car. I have read an article in the past that compared the STI, EVO8 and the R32. Guess what, the R32 won the reviews of the critics. Not only did it keep up with the other cars, it had many more refined features that the other imports did not for a comparable price.

Comparing the R32 to the GTI to a Stock Golf is like comparing the RS6 to the S6 to an A6. Yes, they are all nice cars, but one is in a completely different catagory then the others.

Okay...(poke)
Really whats there for me to be impressed with? Some people like luxury in there car... i don't, thats my opinion. For the money I would much rather have either the Sti or EVO. R32 wouldn't even be an option for me.

So for $9,000.00 more you could have a car that would outhandle, out accelerate...s*** outperform anything our speed's can do. It isn't a ridiculous price, when you compare it to the STI or Evo (which are the only cars for $30,000 it can be compared with).
damn ! you say that like 9,000 dollars is just sitting in the mans backyard.

Don't forget the same would also go for you ...
Can you imagine what the car payments must be on that thing.. I know it must clear 500 bucks a month and lets not talk about full coverage insurance.

Greg, $9,000.00 is not that substantial!
If I was going to spend $30,000, I was heading more toward a 350Z. That's a big payment difference. About $600.00 a month on $30,000.

GI- said:
I don't know that a 350Z has any better bang for the buck as far as performance is concerned!
Bottom Line: I know for my $20,500, I am really pleased with my 'Speed. I had no intentions to spend $30,000, however. The 350Z (in my opinion) has the bases covered. I would buy that long before I would spend that much on a VW.

Nissan quailty blows VW quality out of the water. German or not! In ain't no Audi - not really.

29 grand for a 2 door hatchback.

ohhhhk
What's so strange about that? The Mercedes C320 hatch is comparable to the R32...$30k for a 2dr hatch with less hp (215), but a little more luxury.

Here's the deal with me............. I ain't moddin'! If I spend $29.995.00, or less (or more); It had better be enough power. I'm not moddin'. I am one of the few, I guess, that's happy with just a little boost on my 'Speed. If I buy a non-turbo car in the future (and I most likely will), it's not getting a turbocharger or anything else.
Totally understandable...if I bought one, all I'd do is put on a CAI & a nice exhaust to amplify the already sweet sound.

The internals on the R32 are bulletproof! That pig can handle insane abuse and boost. Cars are all subjective.
It's just as good as the STi tranny & block.

i havn't heard it put better ever...

as for the price of the kit, they spent about 30K on the car when it was a test version. but it will be cheaper because they have sizes and everything....

Agreed, but spend a little more & get the G35...it's SO much better IMO.

The 350Z = a sweet 2 door with great performance @ $34,000
The R32 = a sweet 2 door with great performance @ $30,000

It is all subjective, but overpriced, no way!

Yeah! This is fun! Loaded like the 350Z, and the loaded RX-8. I like the style of the 350Z more than the G35 Coupe, overall. More Sporty - Racey...

$30,000.00....(about $26,000)...................Maybe that new 2005 Mustang GT w/300 HP.

I don't know.............some good options. Still for my money (and; I'm not buying for another 3 years - at least), still thinking about a 350Z or even an S2000. See; we want our cars for different reasons. I don't race - at all.

i think personally it is priced how it should be, turbo v6...awd...shitload of potential, nice interior, although i don't particually like the outside, its still a nice car.
Jeff, the R32 is a 3.2L NA VR6...only the HPA kit makes it TT.

It costs no more than an EVO. s*** people, $30,000 bucks is a mid-price car!
but you have 2 more doors to work with bro...

2 door cars are nice, but they are a pain in the ass, when carrying more than 2 or 3 people ...
I have 2
a 4 door and a 2 door hatch

This is a fun discussion. There is no correct answer. Peoples opinions on cars are too subjective, but just looking at performance versus value, the R32 is priced where it should be.

It is fun. No question! Plus; I still have not driven the RX-8. I must. The looks of that car are still bewildering! Ha!
