How many of you have had your head unit crap out? I've been waiting 8 weeks for the dealer to get one in. I'm getting nowhere. I plan on contacting mazda soon, and would like to have some info on how many of us have been ****** by this pos HU, and how long it took to get a new one. I'll start.

i believe everyone on this forum is on their second or third, (i'm on my 3rd) if they don't give it to you soon, call mazda corporate and tell them you're going to go buy a new one and have them reemburse (sp?) you for it... it doesn't hurt to try (laugh)

My first crapped out months ago, it took 3 weeks for a replacement then another 2 for a replacement sub. Since then the stocker was then stolen. You may be better off asking for some $$$ for what the kenwood was worth and buying yourself another one.

And isn't there some lemon law stipulation that a dealer must correct any defect within 30 days? I'd be ******* pissed waiting 8 weeks with no resolution in sight. Maybe they're waiting for your warranty to run out. Good luck.

I am on my second one. Took about 6 weeks. Sub took about a week.

If you can get money out of Mazda then do that. The stock unit in the car is a couple maybe 3 years old. Plus, the ribbon cable in there sucks ass!

no really, they'll do anything to stop you from bitching... all you gotta do is stage the arguement on the sales floor. they'll do ANYTHING not to have surrounding customers step out the door.

Mine crapped out and I replaced it on my own. Did not even bother with warranty. Plus i relocated it, so we all know THAT was the cause of failure (jerkit)

My roommate is still on his stock one, and I am on my stock one as well. It's getting replaced today though, since my JVC chassis should be coming in today (I lost the original box). The JVC harness and Kenwood harness are identical . I was shocked as hell when I found that out. Too bad I ripped off the stock HU antenna removing it (notcool)

Still on my original HU. Blew my sub up with a firecracker when it crapped out on me the 2nd day I had my car.

i took my stock sub out the week i got the car, it blew so i took it out, they replaced it evetually and that one crapped out too, so i took that one out too. weight reduction PWNS and the stock sub sucks my ass anyway.

Still on the stock HU. It is starting to eject slowly. I will have it replaced before the warrantee is up.

My first one did that for a while, although I think it is unrelated to the failing of the ribbon cable.

Anyone else notice the volume knob seems gunked up when it is really hot?

my stock HU crapped out about 3 months ago. my dealership in houston must be one of the better ones because i got the replacement within a week. i guess im just lucky.
