MY=model year I believe.

For some odd reason the USA add an extra year.

You will also notice a kerb weight increase, a red line increase from 5200 to 5500 rpm, and the satnav has chrome highlights.
the US model year 2014 also allows text downloads.

Yep MY = Model year
expressed as one year advanced because MY (model year) engineering changes, mostly occur/introduced part way through the CY (calendar year).
As an example.... the latest Range Rover Sport just launched into the market is a MY14 Vehicle.

By the way point of interest....I've just been on Mazda UK website and they have just shaken up the model line up, they have introduced a SEL-Lux model with sunroof, Sport also gets the sunroof.

What's the chances I will get a free sunroof with my Sport?????

If you dig a little deeper, it seems that sunroof is ONLY on the SEL-Lux model, not on the Sport.

Its showing as standard also on the sport, but only on the configurator.

There was a price increase on 1st July.

So I would expect the sunroof for example to be standard on orders after that date, on the lux and sport models.

If you order a lux model that would be a certainty, on the sport you would need to double check.

I would expect so, as there in the present brochure, except for the text downloads, which don't seem to work for everyone anyway. Phone dependant.

I also asked why the Lux was only available with 2wd and the 150ps engine, the sport is still the top model, but with out a sunroof,sounds illogical to me?

Given the lack of engine/tranny options, I see the Lux almost as a special edition. No choices to make, just there's your spec - take it or leave it - an SEL with a few bits from Sport plus the sunroof. If it sells like hotcakes then we might see it have a permanent place in the range plus more options.

Whether the sunroof makes its way to Sport and SEL we'll have to see, nothing stays the same for long in car-world.
Personally I wouldn't like to see a sunroof as standard, because I'd rather not have one. But I've no argument with it being an option, even a no-cost one. Choice is king!

the site also now shows the premium cloth is missing which se-l's used to have. The standard cloth seats were only used on the bottom range spec, which in the uk we never had.

I have to say my non-leather seats are superb, I wonder what the lower quality cloth seats will be like? For me the lux added the things I didn't want - sunroof & leather. if it had offered upgraded stereo and bi-xenon lights then I may have been a little bit gutted!

About 10 days ago I paid 55 and got a receipt for a further 12 months on my TomTom Live Services.
Initially it showed on my device that I had paid up to June 2014 and I was receiving traffic updates, speed cameras etc. as in the initial "free" 3 month period.
Now though when I switch on it shows my Live Services expired in June 2013 and I do not receive them, although if I then log into "My Account" on the device it usually acknowledges my services expire in June 2014. Then, after what may be 5 or 10 minutes the traffic bar finally appears.This is despite updating the SD card every few days.
It is as if the TT "forgets" I've paid for another 12 monts of Live Services

I had a TT live 1005 Europe device prior to this car and that is virtually identical in operation to the Mazda's but that never gave the problems I am now having.

Are there any fixes for this short of the laborious route through TomTom?

Unfortunately others are having the same problems, one has now had 4 replacement head units in an attempt to resolve the issue.

TT come across to me as being totally inept.

I for one will not be renewing.

Mazda are now charging 700 for basically a crap sat nav that can be bought very cheap as a potable with virtually the same size screen, and with lifetime maps.

Well, I hope I haven't wasted my money!

There is often the argument that car 'built-in' sat nav systems are hugely expensive and not as good as the portable 'add-on' type. In terms of cost I would completely agree; my previous Golf Plus RNS 510 system was a cool 1700. But of course it is much more than just a sat nav; it incorporates as well a radio, CD, MP3, mobile phone and hard drive (and possibly reversing camera) into one unit. And for me, I just want an integrated system that looks good, I don't want a sat nav that you stick on to the windscreen.

I have to say I sometimes found my Golf sat nav system hugely frustrating, with its inability to always recognise Postcodes, its enthusiasm for trying to take me down roads with grass in the middle, and also its inability to take me back along the reverse route I had originally selected. But there we are; it's a dumb computer.

Just like m4zd.man I want a integrated system that looks good, and I think the Tom-tom does , as for price this is my forth car with built in sat-nav and is less than half the price of the others , and I am very pleased with it Except !! I cant get speed cameras to show !!! Grrrr

Speed cameras need to be set up on the system, and it is dead simple to do, provided you have Live Services.

One of the things that evaporates when Live Services fail is the options for speed cameras and other warnings. I suppose that if you don't subscribe to live services, then it seems you won't get camera or speed trap warnings either. At least that is how it has been with me, every time I lose the service, I lose the Camera warnings.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread someone had four replacements, that will be me, unless somebody else in the UK shares my experience.

Alex I have a Garmin portable that gives safety camera warnings, with out live services ?, also my Nissan satnav shows traffic incidents and offers a detour route to avoid them.

So I question why you should be expected to pay a annual subscription for something offered for free from others?

I assumed that live services was some advanced system, but now I'm not sure.

From this link it does appear that you lose the cameras.

Thanks Alex, I defiantly have Live Services its always telling me there is a delay but I am still on the fastest route, any way last night I went through the speed camera options in the car and changed some of the times and sounds, and this morning on the way back from "Trago Mills " going past a S/C there was a bong bong sound and a red symbol on the screen, Wife and I both gave a cheer {some people are easily pleased} I will be keeping a look out for you I have only seen one other CX5 since getting mine and 2 while it was on order. !

Have just had a conversation with local Autoglass depot, our replacement windscreen is now in UK and due to be fitted July 18th......... that'll be 6 weeks without our CX5. Mazda CS couldn't help without a Mazda order number/dealer code; Autoglass could only come up with an 8 figure reference.... obviously there own order number. Eventually Mazda CS offered a HIRE car and admitted that the backorder was caused by a sea shipment being targeted by Somali pirates and that they were airfreighting Mazda 6 and CX 5 screens to UK. But they've arrived and as long as Autoglass have ordered the gell sheet for the auto lights/wipers and the shroud for the wiper motor and the new screen isn't chipped we're back on the road.......

I don't mind paying for a service if it works etc. My old Tom Tom (stick-on type) has got speed cameras all inclusive. Might not be up to date but apart from motorway incremental ones where there are roadworks, most cameras haven't really changed.

Live services is advanced when it works. It will work for a couple of weeks whilst I'm around my home area, but as soon as I attempt to travel anywhere where there are likely to be hold-ups it disappears, therefore rendering the thing useless.

Just looked at the link and I see someone has left a positive review. Something tells me should I attempt to do one, won't get published.

UPDATE:
7 July, I went to the Mazda dealer who contacted Mazda Tech. Dept. who said it was a software problem, ie. I need to contact TomTom.
8 July, emailed TT support (that's a faff in itself) explained the problem.
9 July, TT replied saying they had "re-embedded the subscription onto the device" and I would have to do a "factory reset" on the device which would lose all my Favourites and settings.
As I was going on a 100 mile round trip minutes after receiving the email I didn't do anything to the device except plan a route.
After about 20 mins. driving the Traffic Bar suddenly appeared. I checked "My Services" which showed they expired on 8 July 2014, ie. 12 months on from the previous day.
This was great, until an hour later when the Traffic Bar disappeared and "My Services" showed "Error 1008" (I think that was the number)
10 July, Everything working fine again

Fingers crossed now.
(When I spoke to my dealer yesterday he said another customer had just been back with a TT problem - he was still within his 3 months "free period". The TT was showing he was still at home when he was at the dealers 10 miles away.)
