The blue symbol in the top left is a bluetooth connection notification to a mobile - when connected would probably allow you to play your mobile's stored music via the CX5 headunit - if its compatible!
The 'Gracenote' update is referring to the voice recognition software for viewing/selecting your music (see http://www.gracenote.com/auto/)
I've not seen any significant understeer, and regularly test it like my old coupe. Some slight body roll maybe, but probably to be expected.
Its not the AWD kicking in is it?
I'd say, try taking the Kia Sportage for a test drive. The CX will feel planted after that experience.
