How does this sound for my first group of mods

:
2001 Mazda MP3
My car is basically my daily driver, although i still have my protege, but i'm trying to keep my MS3 streetable for now atleast. I've been putting all extra money recently towards my CC debt, but i hear we all should be getting extra money from the GOV't and the tune of 600 bucks, so i figured i should upgrade my MS3 $600 wort.. so this is a list i've accumulated that i think should be a good start, looking for opinions of things that i should swap for something else or if this is a good start.

Filter Conversion Kit
Forge Motorsport Bypass Valve
TRZ "Dog Bone" Rear Motor Mount (poly insert)
Cobb Tuning SF Intake
TWM Shifter Base Bushings

the only thing i haven't really read a lot about is the forge, whats are some opinions of that

I would skip the BPV as I don't believe it will help your performance any and then put the money towards some sway-bars, that way you'll feel the difference and feel like you got your moneys worth.

..wrong. there is plenty of threads about the stock bpv leaking, hindering performance. to keep the car daily driven i would get the forge no doubt. i will be ordering one once the MS CAI becomes available once again. As far as the motor mount, if it is a daily driver then get the corksport inserts. Search for my review about them including install and everything. The new dog bone mount will cause vibes that are no fun and make sitting at idle NOOOO fun, it just gets annoying.

yea, thats what i was thinking, but i was gonna go with the poly and not the duro, which is a little softer.

I would say your mods look good. The forge is a must have as the stocker does leak/can't hold boost as well.

The DogBone is not that bad to be honest. I have the Poly one. The Vibes are bad at first but after it breaks in its not bad at all.

I use my car as a Daily Driver at almost 100miles a day.

yeah, my commute is about 10 miles round trip

Mod list looks good. Very similar to what I have done already. Cobb springs and sways would be my recommendation for your next mods.

Good luck, keep us posted.

yeah, some suspension setup will probably be next, but i may wait and save up for a full coilover setup

I'm guessing you're talking about the oil filter conversion kit... which I don't see the point in. I'd skip that.

Also, I didn't see any difference in boost between the stock valve and the forge one. maybe some people have leaky stockers, but you'd have to see it on a boost gauge/dashhawk to know for sure.

the TRZ with the poly insert is the way I would go on the mount. I think my street unit one is a little soft and I wanted to try something harder. I might get that one also and just have both of them. it takes like 5 seconds to trade them out.

a dude at work just got the cobb intake and it sounds sweet. it's really loud if you're into that sort of thing. I've heard the power increases are hardly noticable, but the placebo effect will tell you otherwise, which is fun.

I don't really have anything to say about the shifter base bushings other than I've shifted (I guess when the motor was rocking in some weird direction under throttle) and hit the shift gates rather than third gear or whatever I was going for. with the weak shift linkage that our cars have, I would be tempted to perform this upgrade also, just for added safety. both of the guys I work with who own speed3s have had their shifters lock on them and not want to go into gear. I'm guessing it had something to do with bent linkage or something. it is a weird problem. maybe this would help.
