More important, how do you get paid? I have a couple of items I want to sell. I'm not going to mention what yet because I don't have pics to post right now. What I'm trying to figure out is how you guys sell stuff and collect the money. I just can't see somebody sending me a check and waiting for it to clear, and I hate the thought of giving Paypal a percentage, not that I am sure how to go about using them anyway.
So how do you guys do it?

Pretty much, PayPal is the way to do it, unless you sell to someone local. Exactly the reasons you are asking is why PayPal makes sense. Paying them a percentage is worthwhile because you don't have to deal with the other hassles.

I use paypal. Its going to be the fastest/easiest way. You could ask for a money order to be mailed (I think i've gotten one before) before you ship the product but that adds up to more time...

I went to their website and it talks about getting payment from people purchasing stuff on my website. How does somebody pay me if I don't have a website? I am going to assume that Paypal credits an account that I give them. Would that be to my credit card, or do I supply a checking account and routing number?

How it works is you open a paypal acct and then you can add your checking account to your paypal account. People send money to you by using your paypal acct address. Then those funds will be in your paypal acct. You can leave them there to make purchases or you can have it disbursed to your checking account.

If you want, you can use my paypal account. They pay me and I'll write you a 3rd party, out of state, starter check from an offshore account for a modest cut.

The money ends up in your PayPal account. You can then use it to buy stuff from other peeps here, or ebay. All you need to receive money is an email address: There is a "send money" page and putting your email address is all you need as an ID. It also includes a verified address to ship to so it is more certain that you are sending the stuff to the account holder.

I must say I am not a great fan of PayPal the company (actually it's a division of eBay), and the skim is a bit annoying, but the use of it works pretty well.

You don't have to have a PayPal account. People who have them can send money to anyone with an e-mail address.
